1. Thanks for suggestion i am obviously trying a few settings etc just wanted to pick some sounds that have been used too good effect. My playing is sort of groove rock and is mostly fingerstyle. So far i have been pretty impressed with what i am hearing and would like to get that slightly overdriven sound i have noticed on the dirty loop videos etc, getting that drive mix correct is proving difficult.
 2. Have recently treated myself to an EBS Fafner 2 and Neo 212, are there any owners of this amp that could give me some suggested settings to try out. I am feeling a bit confused by all the possibilities in sound it has to offer (i.e too many knobs)
 3. Just saw this so apologies if somebody has already put it up bass looks great, like the flag fret markers.

 6.
Apologies if this has been posted before (I did a quick search & didn't spot it). Worth listening to again though if it has been posted http://www.youtube.c...d&v=GRjAgl1dQBk
Thanks for that one of my all time favourite players and track.

 8. I used to have a couple of guitarists in my old band and both were dicks.During one gig we were setting up our gear and would often have the odd friend come along to help, this friend asked the guitarist for help picking up one of his marshall stacks to put it on top of the other one.The guitarist looked at him and shouted "DO I LOOK LIKE A F..K.NG ROADIE". That particular chap didnt turn up again not surprisingly,i hate guitarists.
 9. I resisted a 5 string for like ever, however i decided to give it a go and after i got over thinking the B was an E found that i enjoyed playing it a whole lot. I do try to use the B sparingly though, as i feel it has much more effect when used in a song that way.
 10. Some very nice playing here particularly from about 1:42 great groove and sound, was disappointed though that a rabbit was not pulled out of a black hat, well half a rabbit anyway
 11.
Well, as some of you already know, in the last 12 months I've finally discovered the bass that works perfectly for me; the Sandberg Basic. Since I bought my first one last March, I've changed my three main basses for Sandbergs, including getting rid of my old faithful US Jazz which had been my go-to bass since I bought it 14 years ago. I'm so happy with my basses at the moment, and have zero GAS (for basses anyway.... ). I find that the neck is absolutely perfect for my hands, VERY slim with a lovely profile that flattens out down the centreline slightly. They sound great too, although it took me a little while to get used to. They're much brighter, responsive and harmonically rich than any other basses I've owned, and the Glockenklang preamps are great. they allow you to dial in enough variations to be useful, but are very natural and transparent. These basses take such a good setup; it's very easy to achieve a low action without any compromises, and they are absolutely effortless to play IMO. They're not necessarily the colours I would have chosen if I could afford to buy new, but the used Sandberg buyer can't afford to be too picky! Obviously describing sound is subjective and difficult to do. but I would describe the two Basic 4s as being kind of like a cross between a Stingray (obviously), a Warwick Thumb, and a super jazz blended more towards the bridge pickup. They are punchy, growly and articulate. You can dial in great tones for most styles, particularly IMO a nice burpy funky fingerstyle sound, and a great slap tone, although it also does a good rock pick sound. The pickup is slightly further forward than on a 'Ray. The Basic Ken Taylor is obviously much more sonically versatile, with the two pickups and the option to split them to single coil. It is also slightly warmer sounding, I think due to the fact it's Alder bodied, unlike the other two which are Ash. The Glock also has a push/pull volume pot for true passive bypass, and with the EQ centred there is zero volume or tone difference when you switch between active and passive. Anyway, here's some pics. The bottom one is an attempt to show how slim the neck is, although I don't know how well it comes across. Also I made the clear pickguard for the greenburst one recently to show off the colour. 13. Saw this today and loved it, as usual Billy talks a lot of sense and gives us a heads up on a possible amazing product the Evertune Bridge 6.44 if your interested.
 14. Thanks once again for the input.
 15.
Do you use your EQ totally flat? It's not ideal, but if you don't use the amp EQ, you could always go Bass into tuner input, output on back of tuner to effects return of amp. This would connect fine but bypass the preamp section of the amp, so you would basically be using a power amp with the 'flat' EQ flavour of the head.
I do tend to use a bit of EQ so probably not a good idea, have looked at george L's website and may give your suggestion of a small hole a try. If i get one of his right angled coaxial patch cables to go in the Tuner out that may look reasonably tidy as it sits fairly flat against the case. All this probably sounds a bit anal but what the hell. I may be getting a DBX 160a compressor soon and will probably need advice on how to connect that too
 16.
As the kind folk at Thunderfunk have put the tuner out on the front you're a bit stuck, u less you can use a drill to make a small hole along one edge of the rack and use a thin cable (like George L's) to connect them. Tuner out on the front!! Madness!
Ok thats that then i presume any other way of connecting it will affect the sound. many thanks for your help pantherairsoft.
 17.
To use the mute function you need to plug bass into the tuner, then the tuner output to the input on the amp (which is not ideal as the jack from the back of the tuner needs to come to the front of the amp) then press the mute button on the tuner. To use it more effectively (and what I used to do) connect it up with a non-muting style, so you plug bass into amp, then the tuner out from the amp goes to the input on the back of the tuner (so your bass signal does not use the tuner to reach the amp or cab) then use the mute button on the amp instead (or turn volume to zero if you do not have a mute switch).
Thanks for reply if I understand you correctly both your suggestions involve me using the tuner out which is on the front of the thunder funk which for me is not ideal as all my rack spaces will be full I was hoping to keep everything in the back of the case. At the moment it is run from the tuner in to the pre eq effects return of the thunder funk can you advise further.
 18. I have a Thunderfunk 550 and a Korg DTR1000 in my rack. I am new to a rack set up can someone please advise me on how to connect my cables correctly, so that i can tune up using the mute function on the dtr and have it set up so that my overall sound is not affected by the tuner. I have done some searching online but am still a bit unsure if this is even possible. If not is there a rack tuner which would do this job correctly or am i forced to get a stomp tuner instead.
 19.
OK , merry Christmas to everybody. It's 6.55 am, the Snore Monster is still inhaling the curtains and I am going criminally insane. Cant get this solo out of my head, done loads of searches, can't find any tab for it. Too fast for me to even get staring points despite a great vid from Clive of this very parish. Band wants to start doing this in January (33 gigs next year and still counting!). Should I just quit the band The solo starts at about 1 minute 50. Any help gratefully accepted
