  1. Replaced mine but popped a JJ back in as that tube is well matched I changed it because the stock tube was noisy ( I recall it was JJ that came out )
  2. Very nice
  3. I was a nearly always finger style bassist and thought it was the best for playing rock on my PBass and EB Stingray before that however …, Ive flipped to the dark side of pick playing 100% and after missing that initial change in tone you get from fingers I’ve found the benefit of pick playing as follows 1: I can play faster and although speed was good with fingers I can go faster with a pick and palm mute 2: Clarity of notes is better in a single guitar band where I’m filling the band sound with the guitarist 3: Amp volume seems louder 4: drive tone is clearer In a band context I now see why playing a PBass with a pick for rock really does work well and I’m glad I made the effort to change As an ex guitarist I found the swop very easy and quick I strongly recommended buying a few triangle Tortex picks and giving it a go
  4. Yep when I did use fingers definitely Shape “ In” was the better way
  5. Took my ABM600 to rehearsals last night with my SVT212AV cab just to give my CTM100 tubes a rest !! Pbass pick player with Shape button out ( on ) and 340khz pulled back and wow a great tone yet clear in the mix too Not quite the CTM but it’s an amazing rock sound for sure
  6. I found the LBT compressor one of the amps best features as it made it sound like a tube amp
  7. Last gig for 2022 was last Saturday and we played our normal rock covers setlist We thought back in November should we add one Christmas song but decided no lol 😂
  8. I love gigging in general as the band are friends and we enjoy the buzz and fun. Its tough work as a small pub type band as it’s often playing to small crowds in unsuitable pubs that should really even put bands on as they are not geared up for it. I often return from a gig ( happy ) and think what needs to change with my gear if anything !! Takes a lot to make a gig happen but worth it in the end
  9. Love my CTM100 too much to change Even my ABM600 isn’t light
  10. The SVT212AV is a decent cab on its own albeit a bit heavy. The important point is it’s wide enough for the head too and a decent height for a single cab
  11. Can’t see my CTM100 sitting on top of that !! Not for me sorry !
  12. Yep I’m not keen on amp over hang !! I’ve used Zilla guitar cabs but never considered them for bass cabs too
  13. This is so true !!
  14. I do at smaller venues 👍
  15. Yep I was tempted to buy the BF410 that was recently up for sale on here but I was too late !
  16. The 212 is 4 ohms and my two ABM210H are 8 ohms each
  17. Sensible as that sounds but we play loud at rehearsals ( typical gig volume ) so both cabs 210 needed
  18. The sound is spot on, good grip and just about perfect gauge Nearest rival would be the 0.88mm green which I have loads too !
  19. Hey folks I own the Ampeg SVT212AV cab and two Ashdown ABM210H cabs Both setups are good I use my CTM100 head with the two ABM cabs and the Ampeg I use at rehearsals as a single cab So what can I change to give me less cabs ( storage reasons ) but more speakers and still sensible carry weight etc ? Must be suitable for my CTM head to sit upon and sound good of course !! Ideas ??
  20. I guess they no longer make them ? Sadly many of the BF cabs are not wide enough for the CTM100/ CTM300
  21. What cab you using with the CTM head ?
  22. Yep PMT have a lot of damaged or marked stock. I tend not to use them now because of multiple times sub standard goods have arrived
  23. I think some finger players ( like myself ) have a softer warmer tone and definitely deeper compared to the pick. In a crowded guitar band I would imagine the pick would benefit the bass being heard but in my single guitar ( overdriven mostly ) band both work. As a compliment to the drums I think finger style tone has the edge for “fullness” There are finger style players with a tone a lot closer to the pick tone but that’s not me !
  24. PMT have a B stock Ashdown ABM410H cab for £404 !! I was tempted but they are so heavy
