The same line at 1.56 sounds pretty good to me but this is in the studio where it works well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPJ-KnveLh8
I just love the sound but I do agree that it works better in the studio or at quieter gigs. I also love both of these versions, probably because I don't know the song that well so didn't notice that the bassist in the 1st clip had actually made a mistake.
2. One word........................PHIL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4nNv8K3vhk&feature=related
3. This is a work of art.............and the tuning's a bit funny (because he chopped off to much body and the bridge can't go back any further). 4. Fiat money is the type of money the western world uses these days. Fiat money is a method of exchange which has no intrinsic value......only the value we project onto it. They could make it out of recycled plastic. 95% of money circulating in the world is not in the form of paper or coins but bits & bytes on a computer these days. In reality money only has any value if people accept it as having value. Ever heard of quantative easing? It's a method of making money out of thin air. It's all a big con and part of the reason we're in the economic misery we're in now.
5. I have a TC electronic classic and it's VERY loud! And thats through just a 2x12.

7. Yes he was a contender back in the day but went a bit off the deep end. I got his last album 'Vibrator' which was pretty naff really. Wonder what happened to him? Edit : I did a bit of research and although he has gone a bit 'funny' he's still touring around Italy, where he now lives, with a band called nudge nudge and he's changed his name to Sananda Maitreya. I had a quick listen to his 2001 album Wildcard and it sounds pretty good ( I downloaded it tonight). There's various videos on youtube of him playing with his band and although his voice is as good as ever his electric guitar playing leaves a lot to be desired. With adecent band (and a decent guitar player) he could rip the charts apart he's that talented. But I think he's happy doing what he's doing and returning to the charts probably isn't his number one priority just now
8. I have a 30 year old bass made of mighty mite parts which I bought in 1984. The neck is a bit of a bassball bat but the frets have hardly any wear and I must have played about a thousand gigs with it. It has a brass nut.
9. I once forgot to a bring a lead to the gig and ended up having to use the keyboard players patch lead. It was about 3 inches long. I felt very silly.
10. Well my tc electronic amp sounds surprisingly good with a strat and a pod when it's going through my 2x12.
11. Hmmmm, I've had a problem getting a sound I like with my TC classic 450 and BC 212. So much so that I've considered going back to an Ashdown rig. Maybe I should try a gramma pad?
12. Weirdly, the last, and only time I've ever broken a string was when I was tuning up at home. I can't ever remember breaking a string while gigging and I must have played a few hundred gigs. I still keep a set with me just in case though.
13. Is this your demo? I like them!!!!!
14. The singer and guitarist in my band got on cash in the attic a few years ago (they're married). And they got to sing a song too!
15.
Thanks for the sales assistance Gareth! Are you playing in edinburgh in the near future? . . .
The 4th Dec with the blue hyenas at biddy mulligans and the 9th dec with the dana dixon band at the jazz bar
16. Yes somebody buy this amp. It used to be mine and I'd still have it if didn't have to haul it up 3 flights of stairs after every gig. Sounds fantastic and looks georgous (I always had guitarists asking for a go even though I insisted it was for bass only). It's not one of those anonymous black boxes most bass players have to put up with - it's got tweed covered character and is 350watts into 4 ohms so is not only georgeous to look at but it's pretty darn loud! Buy it pleeeeese.....................before I end up buying it back!
17. I think I want one! And they're pretty reasonable too http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product~name~Hagstrom-HB-8,-Black-Gloss~ID~12312.asp
18. Never hear a 12 string before. I've heard John Paul Jones playing an 8 string and it had a very BIG sound not unlike this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dpWNjFPDtRY&feature=related
19. A bass? (just a wild guess really).
20. Yes it's strange. My TC electronic is plenty loud enough through a 2x12 8 ohm cab with the gain just below peaking and the master at halfway. Through my 8 ohm Ashdown ABM 15 it sounds even louder. I hate to think what kind of volume I could achieve using them together giving a 4 ohm load (I've never had to try). But supposedly TC electronic exaggerate the actually wattage of their amps because people believe watts equal loudness.
21. Very nice. A jazz with a Musicman humbucker - the best of both worlds. Pretty too. I've just been checking these out on youtube.........what a sound! Very musicman with a hint of jazz. I want one! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOcHMTPsRE8&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWd7LqG5NxA But not today as I don't have bucks (wrong timing) good luck with the sale though.
22. Suggest, to the bands you play with, a cover you (at the level you are at now) can't actually play. Something that will really stretch and challenge you. It can be a popular song but with a really difficult bassline. Maybe something by Jamiroquai or Hit me with your Rhythm Stick by the Blockheads. The other players parts on these type of songs are pretty simple but the basslines can stretch even the best bass players. You'll never improve by playing Johnny Cash numbers all night (not that you do but you know what I mean).
23. Crikey! Somebody's been keeping that under the bed from the day they bought it. Very pretty.
