When Matt joimed the band he didn't want to be a front man. Guess that's why Dom does most of the talking on stage including the goodbyes.

3 in total, and it took years before the first. First was a backing singer who was seeing the drummer. We were all expats and he had to go back to the UK after his contract expired, so we got it together for a while. When he came back she dumped him and we finished our fling. Second was on a rebound who I knew and used to come to the bar I played in. She was interested in my fingerwork! Third was how I met my wife. She was a friend of the singer's wife and friends. She had seen my picture in the local paper and came to a gig. Edit. Lasy night at a gig a father & son told me they came in because they heard my bass!

Sounds interesting. I'm sure it would look good in my music room. Keep us posted. I picked a card whilst at the Mansons guitar show last October. It features a 6 string guitar, but as you can see that is not the main focus. For a while it appeared on our set lists, which are loving typed up, sometimes feature an image and are laminated by our singer - at least he's useful for something. [attachment=54170:scan0001.jpg]

Definately a classic album. I used to have it on tape years ago, but all I've got now is the track Walk Between The Raindrops featuring Will Lee. I had to learn this track when I was at the Bass Institute and have since taught it to some of my students when I feel they need something a bit more challenging. In fact today I was going through it with my latest student (a 40 year old female who still hasn't signed up to Bass Chat!). We started looking at the track a few weeks ago and unfortunatley it was one of those lesson where she took all of the hour just (about) to catch up to where she was last time. Hoepfully next lesson we'll get through the solo and D section. Now, I may have to get hold of this album again.

Appaling acoustics compared to the original stadium. I saw the Foo Fighters there and was very disapointed with the sound. The support bands shouldn't of bothered even turning up. Other than that it was great.

But it's not up to the job for the whole band, especially bass. You need at least 1K (more if you can) for a whole band and some decent bass bins. The 100watts each idea is not correct. It sounds like this rig would make a good monitor setup!

There sems to be a shortage of bass players willing to get involved with bands down my way in SE Devon.

I've just watched it again in HD but through my stereo to get a better sound than through the tele late at night. The mix was ok for a festival and the BBC. Yeah, a bit bass light but still powerfull sound and full of energy. The blew all the other Glasto band off the stage. What an inspired song choice doing The Streets Have no Name was with The Edge. That really fitted into the set. I think the guys did well and I particulary liked all the live endings to the songs. Muse still rock big style.

The Rotosound RB45's are pretty cheap, so even if you decide they are not to your liking you haven't lost out too much.

We all arrive in the van and keep a good flow going so there is always someone keeping an eye on the van & someone in the venue. Some good points have been raised in this thread that are worth remembering. The only time I had some stuff nicked was from our flat. Our flat mte took us dowm the local pub to celebrate getting aj ob and when we cam back the back door had been kicked in and my bass and my mates guitars and pedal were taken. No luck with the cops. We suspected our flat mate of being in on it as the thieves were some well known local speedfreaks that he knew, but we couldn't prove anything. It took me ages to get another decent bass after that. Of course I was young and didn't have contents insurance. Another time our Duo set up in a pub, soundchecked and went back home. We came back to the pub and our guitars weren't there. The landlord had secured them behind the bar and told us we were luck no to have had them nicked. When we started our set I noticed our monitors didn't work as some joker had pulled out a cable!

Hi Sam. Welcome to the forum. Get some gigs under your belt and I think then you can take those L plates of and call yoursefl a bass player. Being in a band and playing live is one of the best thing about holding down the bottom end.

Hi There. After posting questions you should post some photos. What about starting a thread called basses on boats? There's one for basses in gardens going cos of the summer. I assume you don't have much of a garden?

Just found this thread, went to checkout the Muse bass tracks and they weren't there any more!!
