  1. Gigbags now. I used to have a hard case but it fell apart after many years of use and i never replaced it. I have a custom flightcase for my Stingray but haven't used it since our previous drummer used to take us all to gigs in his van. It's really cumbersome and coffin like.
  2. Hi and welcome to Basschat. Let's see how long it is before you accumulate more basses!
  3. That's changing 2 letters. Get ready for a Paddington state!
  4. Electric Fight Orchestra Pi55 Blub The Boors Bodgy Dim Wilde Green Gay Dumpy's Busty Nuts Dumpy's Rusty Buts Lumpys Rusty Nuts (I could go on.....) The Backstreet Toys Crash Test Tummies
  5. Lots of options covered by itsmedunc, so take your pick.... I'll get my coat!
  6. I use a pick holder on my mic stand and have a couple in there. Ok if you do vocals (I do backing). Otherwise a few in your back pocket? In one song I start with pick, then fingers, then back to pick, so store it in my back pocket.
  7. Hi there and welcome from another Devonian.
  8. Yes, I wonder what else is in Peter Duncan's personal album?
  9. £250 is the usual payment for pub cover bands down our way in South Devon.
  10. We played at the Apple and Parrot in Torquay last night. Its been quite a few years since we were there. Now they have a house PA and always give bands a great sound. Its run by the bar manager who is an old friend of our eldest son, and they are in a band together. We played well and had a great crowd who enjoyed it as much as we did. Lots of compliments about our sound and songs. The on stage sound was a bit odd. My bass sound didn't carry that well due to the stage configuration but with the amp cranked up and plenty of bass in the monitors it was ok. There was an added bonus as bands are entitled to free entry to the strip club upstairs! I had to pass as i didn't have my wallet on me, only had a fiver in my pocket and payment was by bank transfer, so no gig earnings to blow!
  11. Correct. We were offered a similar 'repair but luckily found someone to fix the circuit board.
  12. Yeah, looks like a US model alright. Worth a load more if genuine. Someone will get a bargain at £200!
  13. We were lucky after our EV ZLX15P blew up. We found a guy who repaired the board for £60! A new amp module was just over £300.
  14. As we are a 4 piece of vocals, guitar, bass and drums we only need vocals (including my backing) and guitar in the monitors so it's kept and easy to adjust for each venue.
  15. This happens with a lot of songs to me. One on particular is Walking on Sunshine (yes really). Early 90's I living in Hong Kong and one if the band's I was in was playing an outdoor gig for a few hundred people. When we played the song the seemed whole crowd got into it and were literally bouncing about dancing to it and singing along. It was quite a spectacle from our viewpoint.
  16. Last night we were back at the coach house in Paignton. Last time out 1 of our powered PA speakers packed up and we used the old house old Vox PA one side. We used the same this time as we haven't sorted out a fix or replacement for our amp module. All was well until 2/3rds through the first set when there was a burning smell followed by smoke coming out of the Vox head! It was turned off and I swiftly placed our drummers monitor on top of the speakers and that got us through and sounded ok. I had to replace my monitor so our drummer could hear it too and turned it up a bit.
  17. Hi There Rosie. Welcome to BC. Nice Intro.
