  1. Hi there. Where are you based? Thst will help if you want to jam. Open Mic possibly?
  2. Hi and welcome. Get back into bass, tell us more?
  3. A few gigs ago I was setting up my rig and was ensuring all was well before the band sound check. There was strange distortion sound from my rig which was slighty annoying. I wasn't sure if it was my speakers, BF 210 or my amp, Ashdown RM500. I couldn't hear it with the band going so no problem for the gig. At home I tried to recreate the problem and found out the onlytime I could hear the distortion was when I had my hearing aids in as they can't handle the low frequencies! I now take them out when setting up my rig prior to putting my earplugs in for the sound check and gig.
  4. No, only Stoner Rock.
  5. Mrs Mep and a friend visited the Exeter branch today but weren't let in as they had a staff shortage. This was just after they let 3 EMO kids out and nothing to do with that they were 2 50ish women, as that is what they felt!
  6. I have a similar 1991 model, but with mirror scratch plate and string mutes. The honeyburst is a lovely colour to behold.
  7. On eBay recently PP is no longer a payment option so used Google wallet instead.
  8. Another shameless post of me, Betsy & Guy. A great bass, a great guy and a great read.
  9. It'll be great to see some more top bass players get the SBL treatment and do the string change challenge! You'll stand more chance getting Pino than John Deacon who is even more suuuuuuper private.
  10. I bought the FS2 footpedal to go with my RM500evoII. Tried it out last night at a gig to activate the sub harmonic a few times in a new song.
  11. Another chance to post my photo of Guy Pratt signing my copy of his book at the Mansons guitar show some years ago. The second photo is a friend's Les Paul signed by Slash.
  12. Bought a Charvel when they first came out. Had it for years but sold it about some time ago. A great bass but let it go and havent really missed it. The pointyness of it was cool for a whike but not so much later on.
  13. Sorry to hear of your troubles. Friends & Family FFS! Why are people still falling for that. He is neither. I don't rated your chances of getting anything back. It's a shame this is your first post too. Welcome to the forum. Visit the introductions forum and post something better.
  14. Looks fabulous as Cherry burst. A subtle difference to the Honey burst which I have. GLWS.
  15. Hi and welcome to the forum. Great intro. I can assure you your calluses will be built up soon so you can relax. I'm sure you'll find plenty here to wet your bass appetite. You can come and cry, we'll laugh about it with you and try to help. Good choice to move on from the guitar 👍
  16. It's certainly about who you are. In Guy Pratt's book My Bass And Other Animals he explains about his connections with David Gilmour and Madonna. DG told him good bass players are ten a penny but he wanted someone with wit. When Guy went round to audition he wasn't asked to play bass but try Roger Waters vocals for Run Like Hell. He got the gig. Madonna phoned him up and he had to make her laugh. He can't remember what he said. He got the gig. As we know Guy is an awesome bassist too.
  17. Don't wonder too much. It'll make your brain hurt.
  18. Hi Joel and welcome to BC. I've never been to TB but hear about it here. It sounds like you talked the talk but where made to walk the walk.
  19. Back at our favourite venue the coach house in Paignton. Penultimate song in the first set was Enter Sandman and to our surprise 2 old ladies got up to dance. Later I found out they were 78 & 82 and had come from the social club down the road as the band hadn't shown up. I quickly grabbed my phone force photosduring the middle section were i played open E. They were up dancing again later too.
  20. You need to hear the song!
  21. A bit off subject but worth sharing.
  22. No one asks for any from us. We have done the Slade song once. We have played the classic Christmas number one Killing in the Name many times at this time of year!
