  1. Something that really came across in the documentary - very enigmatic, huge stage presence, even when he wasn't doing very much. Just facial expressions alone could be enough.
  2. That is glorious! Nice 'investment'
  3. The bit about his ability to take more drugs than his artists?! Sign of a good manager is their longevity. He is still with Alice Cooper.
  4. Yes, love that page. Worked with all the family in those photographs, and still friends with Ray who I worked with when he released the Gipsy Kings albums in the UK.
  5. Missed it first time around. He did have one of the all time great voices, up there with Otis for me. The Harold Melvin thing must have confused a lot of people over the years 😁 Oh, and another all time classic Sunday morning, South East London record shop favourite. Sold a few copies of Joy and TP back in the day!
  6. Just watched this - always loved Teddy's voice, even if some of the lyrical content is a bit OTT. Was also aware of his accident, but not quite the magnitude of it. And as for his appearance at Live Aid, OK, so musically not the finest thing you'll ever see, but brought a tear to my eye. Will be on I Player shortly: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000ngdj
  7. Your 'wish' is my command 😎 https://wishbass.com/gallery
  8. Private stock, but made to order! Someone's really pushing the marketing BS there!
  9. Breathing - Kate Bush
  10. Shocking, there wasn't! Check out the Spotify playlist from the thread that I have attempted to keep up to date - quite a few are not on Spotify, and I have been sticking mainly to just one track by each artist. Pretty comprehensive list! https://open.spotify.com/playlist/59RhYT5dLPwboS9u3njL4S?si=IvI9NOXjRQOj8JZwGp1fig
  11. I'm sure one of the experts will be along shortly, but just a quick check, are you using a speaker cable or an instrument cable for the extension cab?
  12. Any of those lovely old Fender colours - Daphne Blue, Sea Foam Green, Fiesta Red etc.
  13. Conservation not restoration. Looks fabulous, has loads of history.
  14. John Henrys is a possibility.
  15. Understatement of the year
  16. You have just reminded me, I also had a very minor role in the release of Beach Boys Live at Knebworth. An awful lot of gaffa tape and polyfilla was used to make that fit for release!
  17. I was involved in John Mayall's 70th Birthday Concert which was filmed and recorded. Trombonist Chris Barber was a guest and had a radio mic on his trombone. Backstage he played along to almost everything. Couldn't be heard out front, but the engineer in the truck had no idea he wasn't on stage, so when it came to mixing the DVD he couldn't understand what on earth was going on until I told him! Pretty sure we got rid of most of it.
  18. I had a six month wait for some saddles for a Japanese Fender when I had my shop. Fortunately the owner had contacted Fender directly and knew it wasn't me messing him about. Was still pretty embarrassing.
  19. No, you're OK, that's new - only me that reposts things on here 😎
  20. Single cut, exotic wood, 6 strings, enough electronics to sort out the next moon landing. You'll soon be falling back in love with Fender! or this little beauty...
  21. Came across this from Twitter - different from my usual stuff, but love the two voices.
  22. OK, probably a far healthier, more realistic suggestion than mine!
  23. Looking great. All you need now is for gigs to start happening again and smoking to be allowed in pubs to get some incredible patina on it
  24. You can't keep a great track down @molan - little bit of a conversation on this one and Althea & Donna a couple of months back. Always good to hear again though.
  25. +1 No tuner, check the bass every 3/6 months, never needs doing.
