I had a good experience with Wunjo in Denmark Street with a Yamaha SG 3000. Their communication wasn't great but they got the sale quickly and got top dollar for it. Since then my brother used them to sell his junk shop bargain - a 64 Rivoli - again, got a really good price. I think they have standardised their commission to 20%. They also like slightly different stuff.

Amazed that no-one has come up with Band of Gold or Young Hearts Run Free - the classic faux pas that we used to get all the time when I worked in a record shop (remember them - that's one for the Fook, I'm old thread)!

Doing this incredible stuff to me is like guitarists and shredding - there's always going to be someone to come along and do it faster with shredding, with bass, always someone to push the technique even further. In the end we'll always be going back to the James Jamersons, Bernard Edwards and Norman Watts Roys of this world.

Then wondered why he could never get the right musicians to play with. I kept challenging him to write a tune/song. He never understood the difference. Even as a technically fantastic, and a pleasant enough piece of music, (as opposed to a tune/song)I do find the technique is disrupting the composition - all that using the right hand up the left hand end seems to break the flow, even when not watching.

When you're in the Eastern most town in the UK a long way! Was in Ipswich for a couple of years and regularly went to Stowmarket (25 miles) or Felixstowe and Saxmundham for Jam sessions. You're only 25-ish miles from Norwich - surely there's something going on there? Check out Grapevine Magazine (great mag founded by a great bass player, Paul Burrows - now at the M.U.) for what's going on throughout your region.

Went, representing the company I worked for at the time (as everyone else had made their excuses) to a gig we were filming in Zwikau (sorry, don't know if that's correct spelling) amazing sports hall venue in the former East Germany - it was the James Last Orchestra and they were amazing. Got very drunk with the horn section later that night!

5 string Chambered swamp ash J bass body, 35" scale, maple neck, unlined ebony fretless fingerboard, Bartolini's (they just seem easy to use). Would have had this some time back but Warmoth say they can't do a chambered body with a 5 string neck pocket. Finish would be just letting the swamp ash speak for itself through something like the Fender Mary Kay white (unless I got whip the top off my old friend's former Sei 6 string that had the ugliest spalted maple it looked fantastic). 'til then I'll have to cary on with the EUB - problem is, everyone wants to play in E and I hate playing open - comes from years of playing rhythm guitar in a big band - all those Bb's and Eb's! Some really nice customs on show here - nice work all of you keeping those amazing luthiers in business.

I felt the Foo Fighters first song was hampered by the fact they were a 7 piece. Strip it down to 3 and then they'd have to find some energy from somewhere! Can't comment on Sting as I fell asleep (oops, that's probably a comment). Mike
