1. Sorry, been happily enjoying the forums for a while now, but due to the fact that I hate writing about myself, have somewhat rudely not introduced myself yet! I'm Mike, an ageing bass player in West Sussex, started learning double bass way back at school, switched to g***ar for many years before rediscovering the joys of bass six years ago when I owned a guitar shop - something to do with all the shredders and noodlers perhaps? I now play EUB (Aria SWB) through a Yamaha BBT 500H and matching 110 cab - love the portability. Playing stripped down acoustic covers in a 3 piece (trio, not suit). Thanks for the entertaining and informative forums, look forward to being in touch. Cheers, Mike
2. Failed to sell twice on Ebay although I think I was being realistic. Now looking for trade in for sale section. This is now relisted at a lower reserve - pretty confident that the last price was fair so this is a reluctant price drop for a great cab. New to the forums so no sales feedback - though if anyone knows me from the couple of years I owned the Guitar Shop in Ipswich a plug would be very helpful! I've just put my Yorkville 300w 8 ohm XC115 up for sale on Ebay where I do have excellent feedback. Playing EUB in a 3 piece so don't need this - got it for another band with a great drummer so needed an extra bit of poke. Only gigged a handful of times. Thanks, Mike Yorkville on Ebay
3. Every Japanese Fender I've laid my hands on seemed to have a nice vibe to them, that little something you just can't explain. If you get the chance to go through a batch of Squiers there will also be one out there that also feels just right. Then, as others before have said, it's a case of upgrading the hardware. (Had a guitar shop once, hence have seen a few).
4. Renfrew Ferry, Glasgow - get in when the tide is in so going up, get out when the tide is out so still going up! Just tell your keyboard player to leave the hammond at home that night!
