Just reported this as offensive to E-bay. I'm not left handed but to use the term cack handed imho is very offensive, as for the use of the term Spaz, I thought that went out with the likes of Gene Hunt!
These are the bass notes. Some of these are root and some are a harmony to the chord ie 4th. This was a quickie, so there may be errors! Verse 2 and second chorus vary slightly. Hutch Hutchinson (bass) adds passing notes in the second verse and stretches out in the last chorus and the outro. Harping back to some previous BC topics; songs like this are why you need a bass with very good tone and sustain! Intro: Eb G | G Eb | Eb D | G C | Eb G | G Eb | Eb D | C || Verse 1: Eb G | G Eb | Eb D | G C | Eb G | G Eb | Eb D | G C | 2/4 C | 4/4 F | F D | Chorus: Eb Bb | Eb | Eb Bb | D Eb | G Eb | A G | G Eb | A G | C | F | Eb Bb | Eb | 1st Eb G | G Eb | Eb D | C || Verse 2: Same Chorus: same 2nd Rpt Intro End on Ab
Thanks Chris, will work on this tonight - the beauty of this is that he doesn't stick to the chord progression (certainly not the roots). Yes, will test the mettle of both me and my new vmj fretless to see if the sustain holds up!

OK, I know a lot of tab requests on here get met with "listen to the track & work it out for yourself" type comments, well, I've tried and I've failed so I'm asking for help. I'm trying to work out the bass line for "I Can't Make You Love Me" - I've got the intro and verse where the bass is quite distinct, but I just can't hear all of the chorus. Anyone with better ears than me already worked it out? Thanks, Mike
We are bass players, we do what is right for the songs and the singers. That is where our pride should lie, not going rilly rilly ree like the guitar players.
Silddx is absolutely on the money here - except for one really important point - it's "widdly widdly woo"

Well, the trade was hopeful, so now £7 posted or trade. Just bought brand new VMJ Fretless - straight out of sealed box in GAK, not hanging around on a wall and being tried every day - taken off roundwounds - only played by me to test bass this morning, I've now put flats on. Pretty sure they are 45-105. Need a set of nickel straplocks - new/used, hope that seems a fair trade. Mike
I suppose those lines are "finger-markers".
Come on, accept you've been out-pedanted (if there is such a term) -
See that black plank glued to the front of the maple neck? It's called a fretboard.
Like on a violin or double bass? Surely without frets it is called a fingerboard. -
Sorry, but for an expensive item such as this, you'd like to think the details were correct - or am I just being picky as I can't afford it http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RARE-NEW-FRETLESS-G-...=item4aa0a1db6d
I think this is what you might be lookng for... - er, don't try this at home or on stage: Epic fail... PS I think it's actually a Sei bass that gets trashed... doh! M
I love the fact that this clip is now sponsored by an instrument insurance company - bet they wouldn't pay out on this! -
Henry Lowther and Jim Mullen - used to do a regular pub gig in Catford together. Two great muso's both with amazing histories, playing a free boozer gig in South London - now that's British Jazz for you!

Some people shouldn't be allowed near a musical instrument! Good luck with the restoration - hope you keep us posted.

Looks like it's going to go up a bit from £62 then!

Couldn't find a postable clip - the youtube ones link elsewhere, but just been learning "I Can't Make You Love Me" by Bonnie Raitt - lovely fretless from James Hatchinson.
This bass isnt connected with Colin Fitch or Fitch Guitars. It looks worth a punt though if the price stays low! Nice looking neck.
Fitch - of course - been a while since I was up Suffolk way and the old memory is err, what was I saying? Thanks for the eagle eyed spot Wes!

Anyone know of Finch Basses - I know Colin Finch is/was linked with Zoot/Iceni - do you think they'r connected? Have been gassing for a traditional bass - really wanted a fretless, but seeing what people have been saying about the CV's on here, thought I should check them out. Had just a small job in Brighton today so when I finished, I drove down to GAK (great having a Transit, parked in the loading bay under the watchful eye of 6 wardens and got away with it), to try them out. Having thought I didn't like P Basses - tried a US one with the most enormous neck once, I wanted to try a P and a Jazz together. The quality was, as everyone has been saying, incredible. Checked a Vintage Mod, a Mexican and an Aerodyne and none of them had the same lovely feel that the CV's had. What's more, the P did it for me, so next week, once my Ebay buyer has collected, I'll be the most happily surprised owner of a Squier P Bass - something that before I'd come on here I never thought I would say!

Seems a fairly honest response.

I asked last night for serial number/country of manufacture - no reply yet......

Just where exactly does that spike at the end of a violin go?

STill, found some more stuff to sell - now where did I put that granny -
Just put this on Ebay with a BIN of £70 (plus £15 carriage - pretty weighty). Anyone on here wants it at the BIN price I'll chuck in 6 decent quality patch leads as well. They sell new for over £150 now. Holes drilled in board to take Dunlop CryBaby. Thanks, Mike
Do not despair. What was the fretless that kept you awake at night? Balcro. PS. No, I don't have one for sale.
Just from the pictures it has that vibe http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=85336&hl=tokai Now everyone's going to want it! -
Just sold my Korean Aria SB on the bay for (no I can't bring myself to say it), so now can't get anywhere near the fretless I was hankering for on here. Anyone found the GAS wonder cure?
