  1. Bought back in May of this year, this is the latest in a long line of Heistercamp straps I've owned. I'm only selling as it's lined in red, which isn't a good match with my current basses (fickle, I know). The strap is in superb condition, with the only marks on it from where the straplocks were attached. The leather used is wonderfully soft; this is about as premium as it gets! The spec is as follows: Model: Leedon Tor Leather Finish: Super Soft Leather Colour: Black Lining: Smooth Leather Lining Colour: Red Stitching Colour: Black Strap Length: 48" (43" - 56") Medium Strap Width: 3" (+£6.00) Buttonholes: Buttonhole - 8mm standard (both ends) The strap cost me £88 but I'm selling it for £50 posted 48 hour tracked in the UK. Thanks for looking.

  2. I'm curious to know if there are there any groundwounds out there that aren't "grabby"? I know pressurewounds are smoother and quieter than rounds, but they are harder to find that grounds, hence the question.
  3. We've come and gone over the years, but first gig dates with my current bandmates are as follows: Singer/guitarist - 1985 Drummer - 1985 Lead guitar -1989 Keys - 1991 We've been around a bit! 🤘
  4. As usual, I have bought and sold way more than I should have this year! My Boss Katana 500 amp would have won the best award until this arrived last week; my new Franz Merak. This is my third bass made by Xaver at Franzbassguitars and it's just as good as the others. Lovely thing. As to worst, honestly nothing really jumps out at me, so I would probably go with the Boss SYB synth pedal I bought and moved on as I just couldn't get a decent sound from it.
  5. This is probably more useful than me trying to describe how they sound.
  6. Paul bought my rather awesome Sire 5 string P. It was a super smooth deal with great comms and prompt payment. Very happy to recommend.
  7. These have been on my fretless for a while. The strings themselves are in good condition but the silks are quite worn now. The strings are super smooth and feel wonderful, and thanks to the synthetic core they have a lovely low tension. They do take a while for the tuning to stabilise, as the core keeps stretching initially, but the wait is worth it IMO. Bass Direct are selling these for £60, so I think £28 posted is reasonable for a used set.

  9. Used as a straight up amp it's very easy to dial in a good tone. With the feel, shape, compression, low and hi pass filters and cab calibration you can a really good core tone very quickly. It is also plenty loud enough. The effects are where it starts to get more complicated, and why I recommend the footswitch and/or the bluetooth add-on to really make it shine. As I've said before, I chose my three favourite effects and programmed them into one of the preset channels, and then turn them (plus the compression and the drive) on and off via the footswitches.
  10. What @Mudpup said. All the best.
  11. This bass is now sold. Thanks to all who expressed an interest.

  15. I can lend you my set of Hosco files if you like Owen. Just cover return postage when you're done?
  16. These are SO good. Very versatile amp. GLWTS
  17. From wrist to tip of middle finger is 20.5 cm Hand span thumb to little finger is 23cm Piano span from first to little finger is 21.5cm I like 5 strings with wide necks and 19mm spacing at the bridge.
  18. Original tuners now refitted to the bass. Also took the opportunity to buff the headstock a bit more.
  19. I'm in Alton, so NE Hampshire.
  20. I really like this bass, and I'd rather not sell it, but with a new (expensive) Franz bass incoming I cannot justify keeping it. Bought last December, it's the latest generation (metal EQ knobs) and I hand picked it from half a dozen fivers in Andertons; it was far and away the best. It's lightweight, at a little over 9lbs, and balances well. Controls are stacked volume/tone, blend, treble, sweepable mids and bass on the active 18v EQ, but can also be run passive. The pickups sound great: the neck solo'd is just pure P bass honky heaven while the J pickup adds lovely bite. I cannot sing its praises highly enough. All the official spec can be found here. It came stock with a pearl white scratchplate (included in the sale, shown below), but I replaced that with an official tort one by SIre (£40) and also added Dunlop straplocks (£25) and a Fender tugbar for proper old school vibes. I also added Gotoh tuners but will remove them and sell them separately (link in my signature at the bottom). I think it looks great either way! The above images show the bass with the Gotoh tuners and staplocks added, but before the tugbar was fitted. Fresh image taken today. The bass is in great condition. No dings or scratches anywhere apart from a headstock repair between the E and B strings from when I cracked the lacquer removing a bushing installing the Gotohs. It repaired really well, and you can only see it if you look for it, but I wanted to be totally up front about it. There are also some light scratches on the back of the headstock from the tuner install. You can see all of this in the pictures. This is the best angle to show the headstock repair. I've deliberately taken it at this angle to show what is left of the scratches. I buffed most of them out and the rest may come out too. It honestly doesn't look this bad! And this is what it looks like in more typical light. I also gave the corners of the pickups and the nut a light sanding to remove the sharp edges. It comes with a superb Sire semi-rigid gig bag. One other thing to note is that the serial number printed on the back of the headstock has worn off! I have a photo of it though that I will share, along with proof of purchase, to the new owner. Price includes a 48 hour fully insured courier service in the mainland UK. I can ship the bass anywhere from the end of the week when my new Franz arrives, as I will use the box from that. Looking on BC and eBay these are hard to price, so I have gone for a mid-range value as I appreciate the alterations and the missing serial number may bother some, but bottom line is this is a great PJ5 for not a lot of cash. What's not to like?!
  21. This is a 5 string set with 4 bass and 1 treble side tuner. Weighing just 60g each, they are the great solution for a bass that's a little too heavy or suffers from neck dive. I had them fitted to my SIre P and they were a perfect fit. A new set would cost you around £125, so I'm asking £90 posted in the mainland UK.
  22. For me it was "Since You've Been Gone" by Rainbow, at the school end of year assembly in 1980. I was 14, with Phillipa Grundon on vocals, Nic Ford on guitar and Ric Phillips on drums. We called ourselves Pegasus! I'm sure it would have been awful, but at the time we felt amazing. I played a P bass copy by Satellite with ash body with maple fingerboard, amplified by a Vox head and cab from the 60s that Ric's Dad owned.
