  1. Thomann will have stock in 4-5 weeks and it'll cost £190.
  2. I have been looking at the HX Effects to replace my Boss MS-3 but can't justify the £499 price tag. This looks like it will float my boat for way less money. Speaking of which, is this available anywhere yet?
  3. Yep, simultaneous multiple effects and presets. Why would you buy the HX One when you can use this?
  4. That is a lot of bang for your buck. 21 presets!!!!
  5. The Providence is a lovely chorus and highly recommended.
  6. My Boss MS-3 has been terrific for a number of years, but being fickle I fancy a change and the Helix range appeal to me. I'm not really interested in amp and cab sims, so the HX Effects is the front runner for me. I initially liked the HX One, but I think BIgwan has nailed it as to why it's not the pedal to get even if it sounds great. But then, I really like my MS-3 so should probably just stick with that!
  7. I'm looking for a square board, about 30cm wide and deep. Anything out here that fits the bill?

  9. All my straps are made by Heistercamp: black on the outside and lined with smooth leather on the inside that is a colour to match (or at least tone with) the relevant bass. As all the basses are different shapes I find this the easiest way to ensure the right strap goes on the right bass. I appreciate this is a first world solution....
  10. I'm selling my Providence Bass Boot Comp. It's had very little use, as I tended to use the compressors in my Boss MS-3 once I bought that unit, so is in excellent condition. A nice and simple compressor. It's in excellent condition and is in perfect working order and comes with original box. Price is posted in the UK.
  11. Surely it should say "an abomination"?

  13. I don't need it, but I keep coming back and looking..... Quite a few in stock it seems: GuitarGuitar, Stompbox, Gear4Music etc.
  14. I'm assuming this is an MS-3 on steroids? If so I would highly recommend it!
  15. Just worked out "Mr Blue Sky",  What a great bassline!

Oi! - I never said the bassline wasn't any good...

...but then again I can't say I've ever listened to it, as my ears don't like the song.

Marvellous, well done.  I look forward to more pointless negativity from you about stuff you don't like.  Helps the forum glide along nicely.  🤪

  16. Oof how nice is that! These basses are so light and well balanced it's crazy.
  17. If it has to be Mono, and there are many cheaper alternatives that will do the job just fine (e.g. Gator and TGI), I would pass on the Sleeve as it's definitely no good for basses with angled headstocks, pus the padding is minimal on the sides, and the M80s as they are bulky. Personally, I loved the convenience of the Vertigo.
  18. I forgot to mention the superb semi-rigid Sire gig bag that was included with my bass.
  19. I was lucky as Andertons had just taken delivery of a new shipment, so they brought out five different ones for me to try. Two were absolute boat anchors, I'd guess 10.5-11lbs, but the rest were very reasonable.
  20. My P8 five is a superb instrument. It's strung with La Bella through-body flats and is an absolute tone machine. If you want a P shaped 5 string I would say it's the best option out there are the moment. I've swapped out the tuners for Gotoh Res-O-Lites, which makes the bass bang on 9 lbs. Also fitted Dunlop straplocks and filed the edges of the nut to take off the sharp corners, but other than that it's stock. Tempted to swap the scratchplate to tort though...
  21. Sold a synth pedal to Patrick. Super smooth transaction.
