  1. I really don't miss the days of coming back from a pub gig and then the next time I get my bass out of its case being hit by the smell of stale cigarette smoke.
  2. Redundancy confirmed so I need this gone folks
  3. No! Always had great dealings with them. Sad times indeed.
  4. For me it's two of the Wals custom-made for me: W30496 - Mk 3 five string fretless with walnut facings W12397 - Mk 3 five string with beech facings and custom neck pickup position
  5. Sorry man, at least I tried
  6. Bass Direct have a used one in stock so they might be able to help you out.
  7. I bought two and wow, they are superb. Crazy good quality for the money👌
  8. Redundancy looms over me for the second time in three years :(

You have my sympathy too. I was binned last December (fabulous timing, just before Xmas >:() after 17 years with the company and I'm still a bit bitter about it. Although I'm told that there are going to be more redundancies there, so maybe it was good that I was one of the first out of the door, but it's hard to spin it as a positive. I've managed to secure another job which I'm still waiting to start, although with a much smaller industry player and at a lower hourly rate. I'm sure there are many of us here who can give you a sympathetic been-there-too BC hug, but sadly that doesn't pay the bills.

Looks like it's being confirmed tomorrow, in a 30 minute Teams call.  They haven't even got the decency to tell us in person.

And it'll be my birthday too.....

I mean, really?  Delivered by a soul-crushing HR drone, no doubt?

Many happy returns.  If that isn't too ironic.

  9. I am a total Heistercamp addict. Every bass I own has its own strap made by them, and I even have two of their lovely belts. Heistercamp straps are had made in Devon by a family operation. They are, without doubt, the best straps I have used in my 40ish years of playing. The leather is beautful quality, soft yet strong. These two straps are prettty much new, apart from some indentations at the ends from where straploks were fitted. The quick adjust strap has never been used. Strap #1 Model: Leedon Tor Length: 47" (42"-55" range) Leather Finish: Super Soft Leather Colour: Black Lining: Smooth Leather Lining Colour: Black Stitching Colour: Teal Strap Width: 3" Buttonholes: Buttonhole - 8mm standard fit straploks Strap #2 Model: Quick Adjust Guitar Strap Leather Finish: Super Soft Leather Colour: Dark Green Lining: Smooth Leather Lining Colour: Burgundy Stitching Colour: Orange Strap Width: 3" Buttonholes: Buttonhole - 8mm standard fit straploks New, they were both over £70, so I think saving a tenner posted is fair, but as always I am open to sensible offers. #1 And #2
  10. I sold a couple of gig bags to Colin and the deal was as smooth as a set of well worn in flats 👍
  11. Ripe for a good restoration I'd say. New nut, get it fretted again, tidy the bridge up. Could look really good.
  12. That is weird and cool at the same time.
  13. Fitted the Fret Nation six position rotary switch to my Dingwall today and WOW what a difference it makes!  It was fiddly to do, but well worth it.

  14. Two cabs from the German maker FMC here. A compact 8ohm 112UL for rehearsals and small gigs, and a more powerful 4ohm 1210UL for big stuff.
  15. A pair of very nice Gator gig bags. They are used but certainly not abused, and there are no rips or stains anywhere. I have added extra foam to the detachable cushions go give even more protection. £80 new, I'm looking for £50 each posted in the UK, or £90 if you take both
  16. I almost always run my amps flat and tweak on the bass, normally just by panning between the pickups, so not an issue.
  17. I actually use the three preset channels rather than the "front panel". They are all set the same apart from the combination of effects used, ensuring gain and compression remain constant.
  18. I appreciate Franz basses are a relatively unknown quantity in the UK, so I will drop the price to £1800, which is basically a third off new.
  19. Shameless plug: This fits it perfectly.
  20. My work is done 👍🏻
  21. Wow that’s some high tension!
  22. What did you go for? I looked at the Dingwall strings on my NG and this is what the calculator came out with.
