1. Yes, just spotted this too. Looks lovely and, as you say, probably weighs something silly. I must admit, I am having some serious nostalgia GAS for TE stuff at the mo....
2.
For anyone dithering, this is a very nice-playing and nice-sounding bass.
Thanks BBN! Friday night bump for a price drop.
3.
Chain Saw?
This amp comes in a custom casing
4. Well, I just realised the amp would hang over the side of my Berg by nearly 3" each side. Visual fail, so it's a no from me
5.
The questions I'd be asking are- How old are the KT88's and when was it last serviced and by whom?
It's ex-demo from a shop, so very low miles, but I've asked them for a full history just now.
6. I may go back and use the Thomann price as a negotiating tool.
7.
They retail for £988 on Thomann. I think £800 is a fair price, but not really good. Plus, how old, how much use, cosmetic condition, last serviced? If the KT88's need changing you could be in the region of £75 for a decent matched pair http://www.hotroxuk....-lion-kt88.html and this could take the shine off things. For this money, I'd want to be really sure that I wanted the amp. Have you played through it?
I hadn't seen that Thomann price, only the £1299 UK RRP, so yes you are right the price isn't as good as I thought.
8.
What is a really good price?
Just over £800
9. Hi all I've been offered one for (edit: what I thought was) a really good price, and I was wondering what people think of them? Cheers Gareth
10. Thanks for the messages guys.
11. The Legacy series at Strings Direct? Made by Picato I believe....
12. Trades + cash to me also considered: Ashdown LB30 head Ashdown CTM15 or 30 head Trace Twin Valve head good quality 1 x 12 cab Thanks Gareth
13.
Well if a certain Sandberg sells... I was surprised to see it up for sale!
Indeed. With a Wal incoming next year something had to give....
14. It's a great rig that's for sure. I would buy it all back if I had the spare cash
15. Gosh, surprised to see this going up for sale.
16. I played in a really good function band where the drummer used one of the top end Roland kits. It sounded fantastic, had a huge array of sounds, and was easy to set up/pack down. The only thing I would say is they need a really decent PA to sound their best, and unless everyone's using IEMs, a quality amp behind it as well, for the band to get a good thump for the kick and snare.
17. It's when I read a thread like this that I realise how lucky I am to still be playing with folks I've known for over twenty years. Agree with what's been said above - it's their loss - onwards and upwards for you!
18. I regret selling mine. The TONE from these amps is just lovely. Wish I had some spare wedge...
19. Sold Graeme some valves. Great comms, smooth deal, top fella
20. Nifty little amp there....
21. So, the problem still exits after all, but only occasionally so hard to pin down. Could it be one of my instrument leads?
22. I'd have a YOB '66 Jazz, dots and bound neck with lollipop tuners.
