  1. It’s all good, just wanted to vouch for the neck. Can be death by association sometimes. Like to know the manufacturer though.
  2. As the only owner and player of this neck, I can vouch for its “unshite-ness”. I chose it over some NOS tokai necks the shop had.
  3. Yup describes this neck! The shop in Gloucester had a number of NOS necks and this one had the 2 miscolour patches in the rear, so assumed that’s why they weren’t attached to a body.
  4. Some more pics. The colour is more of an aged cream white. I’ve removed the pickguard cover now btw. I might be interested in selling the loaded body as there’s a P style body that the neck would suit. I was going to buy but had to pull out sorry @hooky_lowdown Or might just keep it as a back up or for some 80’s slap! 😂
  5. The neck was NOS I picked up in a shop. No decal no holes drilled. Here’s it after I dropped some tuners in before sending off to be put together. More pics to follow.
  6. The neck had that truss rod end when I bought it. Which is why it made good sense to use it for the body. Like I said, I will post more pictures and measurements when I get back home. Thanks 😎
  7. Anyone else waiting for a Parcelforce delivery that’s overdue? Waiting for a NBD. 3 days overdue. The tracking showing it was picked up and delivered to Hub, but notification stating that it’s stuck there for a number of reasons around staffing/strikes/wrong kind of snow on the lines. The seller is more anxious than I am. Nothing I can do about it, and I’ve discovered that anger has no influence over delivery speed.
  8. Wow, that’s some dump run then!
  9. That’s my wife’s pictured nightmare of me returning every time I say, “I’m just popping into town for some new strings”.
  10. Cheers @Al Krow I sourced a SmoothHound system in the end. The guitarist has the same system and it’s working well so far.
  11. That’s a lovely looking bass, bet those Pups growl like my Rottie. Also Pete is great guy to do business with, buy with confidence. Sadly jazz necks aren’t my bag otherwise I’d be down that canal on a speed boat! glwts
  12. Could be interested in this. Logistics might be the issue though. I’m in Bath but work in Poole once a week. Maybe a relay?
  13. The trick EB possibly missed was not making a “Flea” bass that was an affordable alternative to a Ray. Maybe a Flea SUB or the like. Most of the Flea fanboys I knew were teenagers who couldn’t afford an actual Stingray.
  14. @tredders I used to teach music in prisons and we were always needing decent instruments. Billy Bragg donated some through his Jail Guitar Doors charity, which was really helpful. Whatever people’s thoughts/attitudes are towards the “residents” and the crimes they commit, Music is a powerful way of teaching some important life skills such as listening, deferring to others, being creative, performance, confidence, team work, patience, perspective taking, etc. If you have a prison near you, get in touch with them maybe? Education dept or chaplaincy are usually where us Care Bears work. Ps I’ve seen a fair bit of criminal bass playing in my time. 😂
  15. I know what you mean. My preference is up to 1976 culminating with Blue Moves being my favourite album. Not a massive fan of anything after that. However, that performance last night was fabulous and very nostalgic for me.
  16. Enjoying catching up with the Jacob Collier set. Not my usual cuppa, but it’s great. Love how he got the crowd holding that 3 part harmony at the beginning. Beautiful. Robin Mullarkey playing his bass vi. Nice.
  17. Absolutely. Lovely playing and terrific tone from Matt. With no need to reinvent the wheel, Dee’s melodic lines, skipping over those songs (whilst Nigel laid down that solid tub thumping) was perfect. 😎
