  1. Having (eventually!) got round to cranking it up in my garage, the Carvin R600 + 4x10 cab I bought from Zummerbass is now #1 with a bullet in the Best Purchases list. Great sound and holy feck it's loud. Such a shame to hand it over to the mate who paid for it although he got it for his rehearsal space, so I'll still get to use it on band nights when they eventually start again.

You forgot 'Knob!', 'Belgium' and 'Embiggen'.

Absolutely. I've built two fuzz pedals this year. I never use fuzz. But it was fun..!

Summing up this entire thread in 3 quotes:
  14. Music to cook to... a playlist of some of my favourite TV and movie themes. Just had the Battle of Britain theme, before that was Adagio of Spartacus and Phrygia (Onedin Line, squire), coming up I've got Chi Mai and Morse and St Elsewhere and Luther and the Bullitt suite and looooads more.
  15. Our frontman has built a new rehearsal space that is big enough for us to rehearse in (6 of us, anyway) and still remain distanced. On that basis, I'd love to get together and make some music. I haven't made any loud amplified noise since March and it is driving me bonkers. I'm hoping my bandmates will be happy to do it.

He was indeed. Everything should be painted either Mint Sunrise or Misty Buff.

And FWIW, I think it looks fackin brilliant. It appeals to my inner engineering nerd. Once you've worked out what the symbols actually mean -- and let's face it, we're all intelligent, even the guitarists** so that won't take long -- it'll be easy enough. I mean, it's not the first pedal to have shall we say 'enigmatic' control labelling... 'Pinch' and 'Wool' on the Woolly Mammoth, anyone? ** obvious joke, but I apologise to any sensitive petals who are offended by it.

From little acorns, and all that. If they're going to dip a toe into the waters of stuff-other-than-cabs, better to start small. Jumping in feet first with an expensive tube amp, with all the R&D and prototyping costs involved, could have been financial suicide. I think it's a smart first move.
  21. Thanks guys, you're making me feel young!
  22. Dead Man's Curve - Jan and Dean
  23. Cheap at Half the Price - Dr. Feelgood
  24. Rock Bottom - Lynsey de Paul and Mike Moran
  25. Satellite - The Hooters EDIT: just had a listen to this on yootoob, I'd forgotten what a belting song it is.
