I read that Sylvester Stallone's now with wife No.3, his first marriage was rocky and the second was rocky too.

Fantastic. The weather was amazing, a 24 hour window of glorious sunshine in the gloom. I've never seen my lass looking so happy. Managed to make her cry (happy tears) with my speech, so a result there too

  2. Grey Day - Madness
  3. The 35P4 is a properly great pickup, it bellows like a horny moose. I put one in my Q4 and it transformed it beyond all ken. Absolutely superb. This bass is beautiful.
  4. Double Barrel - Dave and Ansell Collins
  5. I struggle to attain even a single μBootsy, to be honest.
  6. This glorious piece of music. https://youtu.be/b7x80iSz4nk?si=I2J-bL6UYNjlrDkA
  7. Top 10s, top 100s, 'the greatest...'s, they're all nonsense and this one is no different. Music isn't a damn competition.
  8. Oh good choice. The first thing of his I ever heard was Trashman, love it. https://youtu.be/wKMbKxsSrp4?si=nPDnGDTzCPPxevQ5
  9. Hi Does the £10 each for the wall hangers include postage? I'd be interested in taking both.
  10. No No No - Dawn Penn
  11. Papa's Got A Brand New Baguette - Mr Brown
  12. Goodbye Pork Pie Hat - Mingus
  13. "Mork calling Orson, come in Orson..."
  14. Crying - Roy Orbison
  15. What's New Pussycat? - Tom Jones, tidy like
  16. Oi. You're talking about my ska band's core audience there Admittedly it's not my favourite from the set, but it is surrounded by absolute bangers so I'll let it off. The one song we all loathe and will never play is My Boy Lollipop, which seems to be getting a right kicking in this thread There are many songs I dislike but few that I actually hate. Freebird is one, Layla, Cher's 'Believe', but for me the #1 unflushable turd is The Mavericks' 'Dance The Night Away'. Fingernails down a blackboard.
  17. The very last vocal line is a complete giveaway... "Me and my baby in a 69"...
  18. As if I didn't feel old enough already...

I've just found out that later this year I'm becoming a great-great-uncle.

    Jeeves, bring my zimmer frame.

  19. Boys Boys Boys - Lady Gaga
  20. Likewise. I have my usual Elixir nickel rounds on my fretless bitsa-Rayish thingy and the sound is *chef's kiss*.
  21. And a brass nut too. Have fretless Rays always had those?
  22. Please try. You must have some absolute zingers
  23. I have an occasional dep gig with a busy function band, it's all 'top 40' type stuff and nowt too challenging. They give me plenty of notice and a set list so I have time for practice at home and to make up some crib sheets. I had one 'gig' with them a couple of years back, it was in South Wales at a holiday camp about 90 minutes' drive away... the band leader/frontlady was assured time and again that they had a substantial in-house PA, but we got there to find that substantial actually meant a 2 channel 30w vocal PA with a pair of Radio Shack speakers. The camp ents. manager still expected something from us, so the band leader sang to the backing track tape she always carries Just In Case, and the rest of us went home. She was mortified that I'd had a long pointless drive, was incandescent with fury at the camp and vowed to screw them for the full band fee plus nuisance money, which she got - the band has a good standard contract, and she's a lawyer by trade and very good at getting what she wants - so I was well compensated for my wasted time. But in truth, I didn't mind that much. I'd caught up with my friends in the band, albeit fleetingly, and it was a beautiful evening for a drive, so I took the scenic route home. But it was a good lesson in the band always having a watertight contract!
