Hey folks Anyone know where I can source a Lakland BG pick guard in the UK. I know of some USA based guys but would much prefer to get one more locally than wait on our colonial friends. I'm after a tort specifically and would be happy to swap a Lakland DJ4 p/g white or black with someone if they were wiling ( I know they are different models but I have 3 for the DJ which came with the bass when I got it and only one for the BG) Cheers in advance for any help.

*THE HEAD HAS NOW SOLD* Thanks for looking Up again due to the forces of nature, rail works and geography! Reason for sale is Im trying to unload a few pieces of gear to get one killer bit of kit. If this don't sell for the asking price I'm quite content to keep it - not gonna sell for a crazy price then spend the next 2 yr talking about the one that got away and regretting it. Hands up if you have ever done that before? RH 450 - All the good things you have heard are true and this head delivers on power, performance and versatility. Sound guy at a gig the other night was floored as my sound check took about 30 seconds (he was using the built in DI along with my stage cab) "Lets hear some bass" he said. I played a little, he said "Damn! Sounds great can we get some guitar next?" Literally 30 seconds! Check out the TC website and Harmony Central reviews. Plenty Asking £600 ovno. Perfect condition and Im willing to ship in the UK (p+p will be included in the asking price) I'd be happiest with a face to face meet + demo and I'll happily oblige in Edinburgh but will be unable to travel. Tried that, didn't work out and it just resulted in two frustrated individuals hence the re-list. Thanks for looking and pic's included. Its roughly the size of a laptop only about twice as thick Please PM your interest

Seen one of these on evilbay and was wondering would a 100 tube power amp be enough for a bass rig? and would it be clean enough? Thoughts?

Valve powered Practise Amp...and other recomendations?
krispn replied to JHBASS's topic in Amps and Cabs
I have a Fender Bassman 20 - hand wired PTP made by Paul Rivera when he was at Fender back in the 80's Its nowhere near loud enough for anything other than practice but with an acoustic jam or playing in the house its such a good tone - before i got it it lived in a recording studio and was the go to bass amp when mic'ing up. Its got a 1x15 and sounds great for bass and not too shabby for guitar either! Actually running it flat out thru a 4x12 cab will give you some healthy all tube dirt ala SVT. Its up for sale if any y'all are interested as I never get to use it these days. I'll try and add it as my avatar pic as Im having trouble up loading pics. If someone wants to give me advice on how to up load feel free -

Two Tube pedal normally going for around the £180 mark These are meant to give guitar players a non-boogie boogie tone???? I dont know about that but if your after a fat tube bass tone this is the deal. Most bass dirt has too little bottom end but this thing delivers by the bucket load. All tube true bypass and its running at the right voltage to really push those little bottles. Don't see these often and a really nice tube sound - go from a llitle tube fat to full blown dirt plus if your able you can use your foot to turn the gain up and down - ok so it takes a llittle practice but you can do it drop me a line if your interested

Thanks to everyone who got in touch Thanks to the guys who borrowed the gear to try out at gigs/ practice and an even bigger thanks for rewarding my trust and bringing it back. You know who you are TheButler If anyone wants to do business with this guy he is very trustworthy and I can vouch for him like some sort of mafioso! Likewise I can vouch for Jacko from the forum who bought the pre. Nice guy, very generous with his time and the owner of a very nice Alembic or two! gavin

Yeah you can stick it in an effects loop - thats what I've been doing with my SVP pro - bring it to the practice room I use and it bypasses the sh*tty eq in the amps that the rooms have. It would do the same - most bass amps especially have a pre amp in and thats where I would run it. Its my guitar player thats selling it and he wants £125 and will ship to the UK Thanks for getting in touch

Great tube pre-amp that will give you some meaty classic tones in a 1U space The TG and TB are designed for guitar and bass respectively but a quick look at the peavey manuals for both will show they are identical in what they offer for tone shaping and switches . These units provide a really tone that can be tweaked to you exact liking There is pre gain and 3 band eq and also post gain with another 3 band eq shaping offering a lot of tweaking for all you tone hounds out there In great condition with standard peavey tubes which have been well received ...see link further down. Features low and hig inputs and low and high outputs. a gain boost, thick and bright swicth. This one has also been modded with an external switch jack added in the rear which so a 2 button foot switch will control the thick and gain switchs. However if you dont use this jack the switchs on the front panel are un affected. I dont have a foot switch as I normally leave these set in the one position. These don't come up often but they are a very versatile piece of kit. Peavey is built to last and this thing has seen many gigs - if its reliability and a great tube tone your after then this is the kit for you! Pic to follow this evening. Check the link below where they give links to the manual, harmony central and discuss the difference between the two units and list schematics to mod the unit. http://forums.vintageamps.com/viewtopic.ph...932&start=0 . This is lifted straight from a Harmony Central post.... "Most people may not realize this, but the TB Raxx and TG Raxx units are one in the same! Peavey maximized their R&D and production costs by producing a single preamp they coulod market to both bass and guitar players without alteration. The only difference between the TB and TG units are the labels painted on the front panel! Read the schematics...they are identical! When used with guitar you can get very, very close to a Fender clean tone. Moreso than any other preamp I've found, including various Mesa Boogies. Cranking the gain get's in Marshall JCM900 territory, with slightly less gain. I use a Blues Driver in front of it and it sounds awesome! The EQ sections are both very responsive. This unit really shines when used a bass preamp. You can dial in a full, clean tone and add just enough distortion to help you cut through, like a Geddy Lee, slight distortion or crank it up like RATM or Faith No more. These are really awesome, versatile units especially if you play both bass and guitar like I do. Any Questions?

Well if your interested in trading after a few more days of playing with it I have a Fulltone bass drive Mosfet - very versatile with clean boost two types od drive and a separate boost too!- plus a really nice carl martin delay the Red repeater and I'd be happy to do a trade with cash I play a TCE RH450 and having the nova in my fx loop would be a match made in Heaven. I really dig their stuff! good luck!
