1.
+1, very well put!
Yes... but I do love them, lol I do rather like JG but Burgundy / cherry red has always been my favoured finish. Theres a lovely Aerodyne P/J in the FS section which has a beautiful similar finish, not quite as deep as BG but lovely nonetheless!
2. Jack Bruce - tried an EB3 and didnt like it as much as the Les Paul which made the same sound and more, so bought that. Cliff Burton - bought a Rick 4001 but would really like one in burgundy like his as its a proper sexy colour. The Rick is my go-to bass for just about anything, so that was a good purchase. That bass has done a colossal amount of gigs. In fact I just restringed it. lol And I have a lot of players that I love who have had Precisions, Jamerson, Harris et al so bought a P a couple of years ago.
3. Thats a a fair point, but im only really just interested in the possibility of gettting a fretted one in this colour... and if they (GAK / whomever) can place an order with Ric that would suggest these FL ones do exist (or are going to exist, lol ), so therefore maybe the possibilty of a fretted one could be on the horizon? I think im confusing myself now, haha!
4. Actually this could probably be doing with being moved to the Basses forum, doh.

Ian Paice has to be one of my fave drummers ever, technical and yet very powerful - surely an influence on many that followed him!
6. Morning guys, Im looking around for a BurgundyGlo Ric at the moment. After a little bit of Googling ive noticed that GAK and Dolphin are both supposedly getting stock of 4003's with the BG colour scheme.... although they are fretless, which im not so interested in! Does anyone know anything about Ric colours, ie. will they release this in the future as a fretted bass (considering they are going to release an FL version which are somewhat less in demand!). Im happy to wait for a new one if thats the case as finding a second hand one isnt proving easy
7.
Have you repaired your party wall since turning yours up past '2' in the front room?
lol! Its more the shattered wooden floor thats the issue! Seriously though, these are mega amps. The chap who I bought my 5 Pro off ended up buying another one. I think thats testament to how great they are?
8. I fink I know where this is going, hehe
9.
Never seen the shop tho... odd... they dont have their own website either. I remember a place down there that did acoustics and nothing else but thought it was long gone.
Calling DJV... ever heard of this place / seen it?
10.
Seriously, someone email them and tell them that their reputation is rapidly going to s**t
Never seen the shop tho... odd... they dont have their own website either. I remember a place down there that did acoustics and nothing else but thought it was long gone.
11. oh my word, you cant sell this, they are awesome!!! !!!
12.
Did ya really Steve? I had the 200W Amp Head version! Pretty much the same controls - it was brilliant!
Indeed I did Dan! I think it cost me £100 back in the day so this is a splendid deal. If it was closer I would have it for myself, particularly after lugging my SVT5 to a rehearsal (ouch)
13. I live in Norwich and have never heard of or seen a Vintage Guitar gaff in Bridewell Alley... interesting
14. wow, great bass for great price again on BC! If I was a 6-string man id love one like this...
15. Do love the colour of this, A LOT!
16. the SVT610HLF is the best cab ive ever used. It certainly aint light... but its brilliant!
17. This is COOL
18. I used to have one of these, my first amp, ever! Brilliant sounding things, can do small pub gigs with this... and you have the DI out if you want more cabs. If this was closer to me id take it again just for the memories! Good luck with the sale
19. Aghghhhhhh why cant this one be burgundy-glo!!! would have this off you NOW. Im amazed this is still here for this price! shocking!
20. I have had a fair few basses... but ive only ever sold one! I like a lotta different things, if they all serve a certain purpose (ie. the Gibson for phat thumps, the rick for trebley goodness, the Fender P w/ flats for bluesy stuff) then im happy. I only have real GAS for one bass in particular now, and thats just another Rick, as I know if I sold all the rest of my basses (God forbid) I know the one I really couldnt do without, and suits me the best, is the Ric. Hence having two of them makes kinda sense. lol Ive had a LOT of amps that ive moved on over the years though. Its only been since I got my SVT and SVT610 that ive been truly happy with the tone. The problem with it is that it stands rather tall and is rather heavy... if you could get that tone (and volume!!!) in a smaller package with less speakers... someone could make a lot of money out of it... would like to give Alex's stuff a run out one of these days
21. There's a lot of these 2009 MIA machines knocking around recently - really really good pieces of kit. The only reason I would get rid of '09 MIA P mine would be to get an MIA Jazz! Someone will be happy with this...
22. Wow! Good price too!
23. Wow, thats extremely cool. I actually prefer it in white! sorry you have to sell tho
24. A very cheap way for someone to experience the fun of Les Paul Bass ownership! And it looks damn sweet as well, all black works really well. Nice bass!
25. Wow, thats DEFINITELY seen use! Proper "mojo"! Good luck with the sale...!
