1. I remember reading somewhere that one of the reasons he got that fat recorded sound was the use of a 5" speaker used as a mic.Somehow it was wired to act as a microphone and placed in front of the cab, dont know if this is possible but its a good story.
2. The original 51P bass is the correct shape ,everything after that is blasphemous.
3. Ive had GAS for a good few months now,and the cash to cure it,but have yet to take the plunge on my dream purchase. I am in a dark place as to spend the money selfishly,or put it to a better cause ie the house/family. I try to only spend on GAS the gig money I earn(give or take the odd £100 or so) and this is still the case. Its not like I need anything ,but it was always the "next" thing on the horizon. Now I can get it ,do I really want it? Yes I do,can I justify it?,thats another matter.
4. Esperanza Spalding. Came across her playing on a Sky documentary. God I must be mellowing in my old age.
5. Had loud gigs recorded with a zoom and it sounded great
6. Pmd about the Planet wing,is it sold
7. Clamp it on the bridge.
8. Just to let everybody know that the Mancunian Way is closed today and tomorrow(BASSDAY)and is causing some bloody awful traffic jams around ,all the traffic has to go through the town centre. It may not be as bad on Sunday but you may want to add a bit off traveling time.
9. Elvis's band from 54 to 58 for the Upright gig, or Magazine for the bass guitar.

12. MMMMMMMMM ......Nice
13. Hendrix did a lot of bass on his recordings. Norman Watt Roy on Magnificent 7 by the Clash
14. All the above would work, but you may well end up with earthing problems. The best way is an A/B/Y box.One input ,2 outputs. This will let you have either amp one individually ,or both on at once. One output is isolated so you wont get any earthing loops.
15. Whats that little box Jamerson has plugged onto his bass in his photo??
16. I have one in the cupboard somewhere, yes there is a bit of buzz with it as many reviews say,but no more than a single coil. Have a punt on it if you fancy,I bought it second hand so dont want a lot for it. Velcros to the end of the fingerboard
17. Is that a photo of the actual item
18.
Bad move dude - these are the ones I use and they are absolutely the mutts nuts... They are a bit pricing but the quality of the filters is simply amazing, all the clarity and quality of 'natural' sound - without any of the ear-f***ing frequencies - a very sound investment indeed. M
How much are they? Its time got something loke this
19. Reminds me of the cheeseboard I made in woodwork at school.
20. The question is,how loud do want /need to play. I also use my patent pending anti feedback device on all my gigs,it enables me to use the EQ to get a nice sound instead of just fighting the feedback.
21. If its playable what have you got to loose. It would be easy to get your 100 quid back on a resale of a playable bass.
22. Rev Solo is the one to get. Schatten is supposed to be good too.
