Using a double bypass loop as an A/B/C selector
keeponehandloose replied to pete.young's topic in Effects
Boss LS2 line selector. 2 LOOPS AND A BYPASS INPUT. Loops A&B have gain controls. Select mode A/B/BYPASS. Each press of the pedal scrolls through and mutes the other 2. -

Anyone know of a crossover stompbox. I want to split the signal from my bass so that the highs only can run to a delay. Iknow there are lots of rack crossovers, but I want something for my pedalboard. Thanks in advance
Hendrix absolutely.
For a while I used to think that Hendrix had been blown up out of all perspective regarding his status. Then one day it dawned on me ,he was ONLY 27 when he died. All that music and innovation by 27 yeasrs old. That is genius
I heard he was so hard up not so long back that he was living on meal hand-outs from mates; unfortunately most of his mates are in the armed forces so he ended up eatin' rifles...
Yes times were hard,he almost became A BUM IN WARDOUR ST.

Pick out the melody on the G string ,all the time playing open D as a drone note. Fist note is E on the G string with open D. -
G string driving me crackers

Maybe you have a wolftone going on. Try damping the after bridge string length.Cheap option is tie a rubber band around it,or more expensive buy a wolftone eliminator. -
Many thanks. That`s very helpful. Were they the single machine heads or the normal paired doubles?
The ones I have got are the singles. I am an engineer by trade so take it from me that these are very well made . They are weighty and smooth to turn. The base plate is probably about 3mm thick.Compare that to your current tuners. They look quite ornate, and to be honest I think that they are worth the £100 they cost me. Bloody Chinese!!

I have some of these. They are brass and are actually very good. I was dubious about them so,,,,,,, I bought from a renowned luthier some high quality machines for just over £100. Quess what, they were EXACTLY the same as the Ebay ones for 35/40 quid. Cant remember the luthiers name ,but even after VAT etc ,I bet I coud've saved £40 or so buying from Ebay.

My first topic on here,so Hello all. Being more familiar with Upright bass,I do play bass guitar and just got a spare set of strings for my 51 Precision . I bought long scale ,but the binding at the nut end reaches the first fret. What scale length is the Precision? Is there Extra Long Scale?

I always view the fight against feedback as one of 2 ways. The first is to use all your eq tools to stop the feedback. This is fairly easy to do,but will probably leave you with a sound you dont particularly like. The second way is to damp your instrument as outlined above in some way, so that your eq can be used to give you a good amplified tone instead of taking out all the offending frequencies.
Quite strangely, I get the same problem using my double bass/fishman preamp with my Roland BassCube 100. Horrendous feedback nearly all the time. Now the Warwick Triumph upright doesn't do this & strangely there's no feedback with the same DB setup into my Genz Benz. The bass I'm using is hugely resonant so you do need to keep your hands on the strings when not playing, but it sounds perfect with the Genz setup. As for sound post setting, no the sound post should not sit under the bridge foot. That will strangle the sound. There needs to be a small gap between them. A luthier will spend some time moving the soundpost around, as all basses are different and respond in sonically different ways. Here's a quick excerpt from a setup guide... Proper soundpost position is in line with the center of the foot on the bridge's G string side and in the neighbourhood of 1/2" to 3/4" lower (towards endpin). Correct positioning of the bridge is also important. You need the centres of the feet lined up with the "nicks" of the f-holes. Rich.
Im not saying that the soundpost is best in that position for acoustic tone,it does choke the sound slightly, but it works best for amping.
