1. I make my own, but using pretty much the same stuff as OBBM... so yeah... I recommend them!
+ Another As soon as I plugged in with the Bassic ones, the signal from the bass increased considerably to the extent that, for the first time, I had to turn my bass down as it was overdriving the preamp too much. Well built and good service too.
Sorry but either you were using very, very bad or broken leads before... or this is nonsense. OBBM, i believe, uses vandamme or klotz cable which is great for a number of reasons but nothing magical. If you have gone from NOT overdriving a preamp to overdriving a preamp just by changing cable then there is or was something wrong somewhere
2. So far I have most definitely been enjoying my GS 410 with my SVT. The only problem is as follows however. The cab is 8 ohm, and the heads output is 4 ohm. Not only would I like to pair it with another cab, but I'd also like to raise the 10's up off the floor a little closer to my chest height since im a bassmaniac and like to blow my own head off whilst playing live. My two options seem to be... Another 8 ohm GS 410. This will give me 8x10 of Aguilar goodness at 4ohm. I can't really see any problems with this set up except for the size and WEIGHT of the lot. or... a GS 212. If I was to add an 8 ohm 2x12 to the 4x10 (by linking cabs, not using a seperate speaker output) how would the power distribution work out? Would it be even? And how do you think the 12s would sound with the 4x10? Is this a silly idea? Should I just get another 4x10 and be done with it? I find the size, weight and price of the GS 212 appealing. Thanks for your input, Nico
3. I've said this countless times but: I get GAS when I'm not busy playing all the time. When I AM playing a lot, I don't need anything but my Fender. It gets me through gigs & recordings and I get paid. When I show up with something else, I'm usually asked if I could play the Fender please. There are more Fenders out there than any other bass guitar. So there are more for sale. And they will always be desirable to buyers.
4. I love amp insides threads. More pics please!
5. You haven't heard mine though. Just sayin' ANYWAY this thread is about Acoustic 220s
6. I've used one before It's awesome. And if I sold my Ampeg for the price I've been offered, I could buy ten of these Acoustic 220 heads to replace it
7. I have only one Jazz. I've never needed anything else. I have owned and sold Fenders, Sandbergs, Laklands and Corts... and just gone back to using the very first Jazz I got.
8. Thanks mate, I don't have enough money at the moment, to be blunt... but if anything changes and you still have it I'll be in touch. I can't imagine this will stay for sale for much longer though...
9. Matt, I cant quite make out the writing on the amp in the pictures so could you advice what impedence (ohm) outputs are on the back of the head? Or the impedence of the cab itself.
10.
Don't be fooled by the relatively low wattage rating matey..... This will eat your Ampeg for breakfast and spit the bits out! It'll sound better too
Well.... that's just not true now is it.
11. Ooooo now these don't pop up very often. Bump. I'd totally be into this as a backup for the 'Peg if only it were a little more powerful.
12. Unless its a small venue install then PA hire companies are gonna need brand names to appeal to their customers. *edit - just saw the post above says more or less the same, oops*
13. Yup, definitely give them no more money. When they realise they gave you this back without proper testing after the work was done they SHOULD be embarrased.
14. The best sounding small to mid sized venue in my town (Dundee) has a BFM PA... 2xDR280 per side and a sh*teload of subs. We played the other night and the low end was incredible. Much respect to Bills designs!
15. Although I felt the same about Plans and Narrow Stairs when they came out and I quite like them now. Transatlanticism was probably the last record that was an instant hit for me.
16. I may have to relisten because my initial impression was - 'this is awful'.

Show us your rig!

live shot with my rig in the background, this sounds awesome. The ampeg cab is just being used to raise it off the floor a little.
19. Okay lets say I'm very very happy with this rig! I will be adding another GS410 to the rig to make a stack of doom as soon as I can. That sounded absolutely rocking last night!!!
20. So I bought an Aguilar GS 410 a few weeks back from a kind basschatter and have had it sitting in my house without hearing it since! Today I received the call to say my Ampeg Skunkworks ltd. edition SVT was finished in the repair shop, fully revalved with new JJ 6550s and serviced with a whole lot of issues that I've been struggling with fixed. Now I just got it home and, living in a flat, am unable to crank it... but I couldn't resist turning it up just a little and at volume '3' with the low mid set to 220Hz cranked. All I can say is OH MY GOSH! I am playing tomorrow night and am ridiculously excited about this! I will post a full in depth review of joy when I return! I'm just so excited that I had to post this!!!! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
21. Are those cables time aligned so that the bass and treble arrives at the same time?
22. Is anyone gonna go as far as to clarify the difference between a 3 pin IEC 60906-1 and 60906-2 lead? Stick the kettle on, somebody... sigh.
