Stapleton tour

No London date because we have an agreement not to play another London area show other than Kingston on this tour. The tour is mega-compact due various issues, not least the fact that our guitarist/singer lives in New York and our drummer is a teacher, but we'll be near all the important places .

6. This is a seriously fantastic deal for anyone considering it. The V4B is more than enough for gigging with when used in conjuction with the 6x10, and considering I spent the same amount on the cab alone this is a bargain!!!

Sandberg Review

Mine is pretty perfect in terms of build quality. No instance of the fret slot thing.
8.
I had to post an alembic a while ago and the postage cost around 50-60 quid for it to go up to scotland ....I remember who that was with but yeah sometimes you need to...maybe not here though
Funny you say that... An acquaintance of mine just had a 2nd hand Alembic shipped up to Scotland which Parcelforce 'lost' and are as yet unable to track down Scary.
9. Yes! I'd love a pair. I'm dutch too. And in Scotland. It's like it was meant to be.
10. I don't know any much more than what I said but I also think it'll probably be just a 'big' version of the crush series. Regardless - it's a good thing for people wanting a big amp to play gigs with in bright orange, for sure.
11. Hey Jake. Welcome. I love Huddersfield. Have good friends there from Bar 120 (now called 1:22 i believe?).
12. Thought I'd give a heads up to those of you who like Orange gear. Sources tell me they are working on a 500 watt solid state combo to fill a 'gap' in the bass amp market, coming in at around £300. To me, still not 'real' Orange gear but it's their first move into non-practise amp solid state gear.
13. I like Mannys most - wasn't a fan of the staff in Sam Ash. Guitar Centre is dreadful and they had NOTHING desirable so I wouldnt bother with that! There are a few FANTASTIC vintage music stores in Brooklyn / Williamsburg that you should try to track down. And you should definitely give the Sadowsky folks a call and ask if you can pop by and have a look!

Recording tips

I love "musos" on forums who think all sound engineers are idiots by default. Its a fantastically narrow minded and blind approach. Telling an engineer how to do their job is just as bad as them telling you that your basslines are crap and someone else should play the parts. Why would an engineer throw up hundreds of mics? He knows what he is doing and how is going to do it. If it sounds crap, COMMUNICATE. If you still dont get good results, why are you using this engineer? You must have picked them for a reason. If that reason is price, then consider if you really have a right to complain? You can work TOGETHER. It doesnt have to be a battle all the time, which seems to be something most bands expect.
15. did some demo recording with this last night - will post sound clips when i get rough mixes back
16. I've heard these may be coming up to Dundee. Much excitement!

18. Noisedude - I need you to do something for me. Go to your kitchen and get a knife, or find a screwdriver from your toolbox. Then turn your bass round, and give it a good stab somewhere on the back. It needs to be done.

velcro

Actually - I heard busses banned velcro because it was intimidating and offensive to pensioners.
21. Hehe awesome... from here on they'll just get bigger and bigger... until you hurt your back and then you'll go progressively smaller and lighter again
