  1. Top bloke is young Gaz, looks after his gear too, looks brand new that bass 😎 Buy with confidence 👍
  2. ''Gary asked me to pass him the album sleeve so he could use the sleeve notes to prod his memory. "OK, we've got 'We Close Our Eyes' and that's sequenced bass. Funnily enough, I met Paul King out in LA and he said to me: 'I really love 'We Close Our Eyes'. We put that track up on the monitors as a guide to listen for bass sounds when we do our tracks because we really love the bass on it.' I didn't have the heart to tell him it was two Roland SH101s - which are about £150 each - linked up together.'' Taken from here; www.muzines.co.uk/articles/go-west-producer-gary-stevenson/1308
  3. Nice work. I'm sure I read somewhere that that particular bass line was created using two linked together Roland SH101 synthesisers? I also remember Jools Holland, following a performance by Paul Young live on The Tube, announcing that 'Pino's new band Go West will appear on next weeks show' no doubt much to the amusement of Messrs Cox and Drummie....😖
  4. One of the best adjectives I've seen on BC 🤣
  5. Always admired AC's work, superb. For me, I think what sets him apart is the speed at which he shifts progress along, it's amazing how he cracks on with several projects on the go. One day I'd love to have him build a bass for me, it must be a great feeling anticipating the new arrival after choosing materials and spec etc. Good on the OP for treating himself
  6. Sorry to add this after your hard work, but for info, 36 years ago I defretted a neck and used a darkish woodfiller rather than wooden inserts. Finished the rosewood board with a darker stain and waxed after fine sanding. I was never bothered about changing neck profile etc as the neck was perfectly playable whilst fretted. It's never let me down since. Audiences may disagree mind, as my band mates always referred to it as my Tuneless bass.... 😖
  7. Great job I'd be well chuffed with that
  8. I'm wondering if it ran back into the jungle....
  9. Great frog story! 😂🤣 Bostick was a pain, all that string coming off the tube, kids these days are missing out sitting in front of screens instead of blowing up kitchens and chopping up frogs IMO Anyhow, back to the Camphor Burl, did it get filled? 🤭
  10. Ahhhh, the good old days pre H&S For those not of a certain age ( I'm guessing you and I are similar SpondonBassed ) I think he may be referring to this 70's toy... https://www.pinterest.com/pin/292311832051583702/ Not wanting to hijack the thread, but I also remember almost blowing up my mates kitchen with his Chemistry 6 set.... 🤣 The joys of two 9 year olds and a methylated spirits burner.. 😲
  11. How much???????! Crazy. 😲
  12. Brilliant! 😎
  13. Brilliant, that's him! The Greek, I need to know what you've been drinking!

  15. Or the short eared rabbit/squirrel face at the top? 😄
  16. Anyone else see the angry ape in this? It stares at me every time, legs apart and arms by sides..... Or should I see my optician? 😂
  17. WOW! Missed this somehow, stunning Andy!
  18. If I can meet up it's pound notes (remember them?) if not I do a bank transfer from my account to the recipient, straightforward and quick, works for me
  19. Bought a bass from Graham, great comms, quick transaction, speedy delivery and well wrapped guitar. Buy/sell with confidence 😎
  20. What a lovely looking bass 😍
  21. Just come across this and can't believe such an amazing bit of kit has not been snapped up for basically the price of it's own flight case!!!! Amazing mixer for so little money, our band used one for two years and it was faultless during that time (thanks Cliff ) Have a bump on me for such a bargain
  22. I was at my daughters house the other day and asked her for a newspaper. ' Blimey get with the times Dad' she said as she passed me her iPad thing..... .....I'll tell you what, that bluebottle didn't know what the **** had hit it
  23. WTF?! I never thought I'd see the day these two influences of mine would collide/collude.... Got to say, its not pretty...
  24. Nice job that! Not really any drawbacks I can think of, I'm sure more knowledgeable folks will chip in, but I'd say go for it
