1. Do it! Sounds good to me. I'd also be tempted to go reverse P/MM. I'd want a good passive option too though.
2. Jazzes in general.
3.
I have a Mikey way squier, i got it more for the way it looked than any other reason. It was ok out the box but not great. Pickup was weak, tone controle terible and a lot of fret buz. After a few tweaks on the nut and a general tighten up of most of the screws i had it feeling realy nice. i have modded it a bit now, EMG pickup and pots black nylon tape wound strings, a black pearl pick guard (made by me) and fender jaz bass controle knobs. All told it has cost me about £360 and i apsolutly love it now. It plays IMHO as good if not beter than any MIJ mustang ive tryed, the only thing on the fender that is any better is the finish of the neck but that is purly visual (gloss finish as aposed to mat finish on the squier) . I have been and tryed the new pawn shop mustang too (im curently saving up for one) spent 2 hours in andertons in guilford trying lots of basses inc a couple of gibsons american and mex fenders . non of them came close to the pawnshop for finish feel and tone. so to sum up i would say the MW squier is nice, sort it n mod it then its as good as any MIJ and with the rite pickup better tone too. (and i would be happy for anyone to a/b mine against an mij) SOME PICS http://www.flickr.com/photos/stevefn/8501201218/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/stevefn/8500112503/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/stevefn/8500118397/in/photostream/
Sorry to hi-jack the thread but what's the tele bass in the second pic? Looks really cool!
4. Mustang!
5. Nearly bought one of these once. Fantastic looking bass and I bet the sound is great too. Good luck with the sale.
6. I was hoping not to pay import duty on it. I've sent an email to sims, hopefully they can help
7. Very Burke Shelley.
8. They're lovey. The Nate Mendel looks almost purple.
9. Anyone know where to get them from in the UK? I want a tortie for my Bob Glaub.
10. These are great basses. If you like the big ole necks
11. This is my favourite thread for a while!
12. Oooof. Can of worms.

15. Back in the fold with this beauty! Lakland Bob Glaub with the fralin pickup. Best P I've ever owned and I've had a few. I know it's not a fender, but I don't care!
16. Squier CV would be my call. Or find something better second hand? I just picked up a lovely Lakland Bob Glaub for £500
17. I've had various fender Ps. My first was a 78 USA, that was great but really heavy, then a CIJ 70 RI. That was a good weight but a little head heavy and with really weak pickups. Then I had a Mexican 50s classic, that was the best of the bunch, nice neck, good finish and great sound, but still not right. Yesterday I got a Lakland Bob Glaub, now I'm happy.
18. Just got one in a Lakland Bob Glaub, can't wait to plug it in!
19. Hi Steve! Cocco here, used to be in Caesars Rome and saw you in manic a lot. Well done for finding us!
20. Again, making me regret the Glaub.
21. Hmm, almost regretting buying my bob glaub.
22. I've messaged Jaydee in the hope of a response that's a great story Big Stu. What are the electronics like? Is it a good bass to live with?
