  1. The Kubicki is the ultimate in 80s bass vibe for me. What a mad looking instrument!
  2. Papadum preach - Madonna.
  3. These look gorgeous. I especially like the maple necked one, black hardware sets it off really nicely.
  4. Old time rock 'n' roll - Bob Seger
  5. Maybe I'll catch fire - Alkaline trio
  6. I'm working to a similar idea. Trying to leave 2025 with less gear than I started with.
  7. Thunder road - Bruce Springsteen
  8. I have a set of black labels in a passive TT, definitely no lack of bite in them to my ear, but I've never tried Sandbergs Alnico 5s for comparison.
  9. Looks great that. More grey basses!
  10. I'd have guessed ebony too.
  11. Ooooh that looks lovely, I like the contrast of the really dark and plain fretboard against the silver flake.
  12. Cheers mate! Theres an NBD thread about it if you're interested.
  13. I just got one too. I haven't heard it against other instruments yet but I'm really impressed so far.
  14. It'll look amazing with in either tort or mint in my opinion. @DaleASmith are you still thinking about a GZR for it?
  15. Stop! - Against Me!
  16. A partscaster precision I recently finished. I really like the combination of ice blue metallic, anodised gold and roasted flamed maple.
  17. Lovely looking bass! The body finish is super cool.
  18. There already are some, the modern player series was Chinese, basically the squier CV build with different pickups.
  19. I think it's Lake Placid Blue but I could be wrong.
  20. That's a lovely looking bass and a bargain! I agree with Loz about the tort plate though.
  21. That's really good to know, I'm pretty happy with the decision based on home playing. I think it'll work well for my current bands sound. I guess the good thing I can swap it out in the future if I the mood takes me.
  22. Thanks mate! The seller is called Musiclily UK. It came from China and seems decent quality, I'm hoping it ages interestingly.
  23. Thanks all, I've only been able to play it at home so far. Initial impressions are very positive, it's very resonant unplugged, sounds great to my ear and feels right. It's first rehearsal is next weekend, I'm really keen to hear how it does in the context of drums and guitars.
  24. I was initially quite impressed that fender had brought these out, it can't be a bad thing to have the F on the headstock of a budget friendly bass. But like everyone else has said it's really hard not to draw comparisons to the squier CVs, which will no doubt be objectively pretty similar quality and to my eye better looking.
  25. Thanks! I hadn't noticed the mixer in the merge block. That'll stop the clean sound being colored at all. I'll have a look at the other splits too. Sending just highs to the dirty bit could be interesting.
