1. Thanks purple. I don't know the weight exactly but it feels a fair bit lighter than the Spector Legend I had.
2. I've not had this bass long and although it's a great bass, I don't think it's for me. My hands are only small and I like to play complex stuff which is a little difficult on this Precision neck. I'd also like something more versatile. I'm asking £270 for it (the price I bought it at only a few weeks ago). Anyway, onto the bass. The body, pickups, hardware, etc. is from an original 88/89 MIJ Fender Precision bass. The neck is from an MIM 50's reissue P-bass and is absolutely gorgeous (I'm a sucker for maple fretboards). The bass sounds like a precision should and is not heavy (9lbs), balances well and looks fantastic! There's a few nicks and scratches on the underside of the input jack, therefore not visible when you're playing and a few on the other side of the bass. I say they add to the bass's charm and they're purely cosmetic. I'll happily send it if you're willing to organise and pay for postage, otherwise pickup would be better. I've attached a load of images of the bass
3. I'd also be up for it, it would be great hanging out and meeting some new bass players.
4. Sorry guys, it's no longer available, really quick sale which I didn't imagine would happen. *SOLD*
5. A recent one. First gig with my new bass. I'm 20 and don't look a day over 17.
6. I only tried a jazz once (albeit a Squier Vintage Mod) and it was quite nice, the tone wasn't too shoddy but it didn't feel substantial. The Fender P-bass I've got just feels right. Sometimes the neck feels just right, sometimes a bit thick if I'm playing complex stuff but I love it, nonetheless.
7. Tragic loss, my condolences to his family and friends. Carl
8. Basket Case by Green Day and Song 2 by Blur for my covers band.
9. I acquired a Fender Precision MIJ yesterday after purchasing it from oldslapper from the forums. I'm not sure about the date yet, but I'm finding out. The neck is from a '50's reissue P-bass and it's gorgeous. 10. I bought John's P-bass. He was an effective communicator and a real nice guy to do business with. The bass is well-maintained and has been looked after - thanks!
11. Congratulations! Good luck with the learning of the songs and the gig I have my first gig with my new band on the 5th February. I'm psyched.
12. Rock & Roll Queen by the Subways is such an easy track to play but really great fun.
13. 'Get the funk out' by Extreme 'Me and my Old Lady' by Offspring 'Have you Ever' by Offspring

15. Musicman StingRay. Simply gorgeous bass and sounds awesome.
16. Nice thread Eddie, do I recognise you from UG or talkbass.com perhaps? There's always one guy in every band I'm in that I clash with. I just try to keep my mouth shut and let the fury come out in the form of sweet bass fills, haha. I quit my first band because of the singer and his enormous ego, I couldn't bite my lip any longer.
17. Yeah, bit of an expensive hobby but worth EVERY PENNY. Good luck with the audition, sure you'll slay them. But they're better alive for future gigs
18. Yeah, these things happen I'm afraid. I've had a pedal and strings delayed and stuff, but nothing major. It just means you'll be extra happy when it finally arrives, chin up

20. Seriously uncool from me, I'm afraid.
21. My first gigs with a new band since 2 years ago, so it's pretty major to me. It's only 2 gigs so far though but I'm pretty excited. Hopefully a new bass coming in soon too.
22.
Not exactly but when I last got a new bass, the fact that I'd be playing some metal and fairly lively rock did influence what I bought. IE there was no was I would've bought a bass that was muddy or short scale. FWIW I think the Spector should work really well, maybe you feel like change for changes sake?
Perhaps so, yes. I mean I just do feel like a change after 2 years, and I've been after a Fender for a while, it's my next step up on the bass ladder. Hopefully I can get a used MIJ or MIA Precision for around £400-550. How does a Spector neck compare to a Precision?
