1.
I vote for Curry Rivel, lived there for thirty years and still work there. On a serious note, venue wise, it does have a decent enough village hall with three seperate rooms, next-door to a pub/restaurant and within spitting distance of a decent sized free car park.
Sounds good. I could probably make it there, not sure about others.
2. Some great advice on here. I'm in my second year of my web design degree, and if anyone needs any help with a website or would like me to make one, then give me a shout
3. I do love the look of maple. But maple on a jazz just doesn't seem to go... don't ask, I can't really explain it. But on a precision, maple fretboards look KILLER. I love my current bass, with the rosewood and pearl inlays. I prefer rosewood for playability too.
4. Will bought my P-bass. Great bloke, maintained effective communication and ordered the courier and it all ran very smoothly. Top guy to deal with, I'd happily recommend Will.
5. Hey there, welcome to the forum. It's a great community
6. I am indeed. It's the first thing I look for, ashamedly.
7. Nice and tasteful. Lovely round fat tone too. Thanks for sharing.
8. In my opinion, you really need the sonic space to be heard. For example, Muse, Rage Against the Machine, etc. all have this in common. It worked well in those bands.
9.
Your welcome! You shouldnt be disappointed either, I've been through countless basses including some Laklands, Musicmen, Bacchus - the works. And my MIM Jazz is the one that's stayed the longest!
Good stuff. It's been offered to me at the same price of a Standard Jazz (from Reverb) at £450, as they were all out of them. Thanks, Carl
10.
Hmm, I'm pretty sure they're all pearloid. Mine sure is. And mines a very narrow Jazz neck. If your thinking of the Squier Vintage modified Jazz then yes, It has black inlays and a wider neck.
I realised my mistake just after posting it, but had to go. I mean pearloid Thanks for your help, Ste
11. Hey guys, I don't have a chance to try this out but I can get one of these for £450. It's the one with the black inlays. I want a slimmer neck, typical of a jazz bass, BUT is this neck quite chunky (as I heard on the gearwire review)? Any other thoughts on the bass from those who have played it?
12. Hello there, I'm also from Devon.
13. It's very nice. Unfortunately, the red colour isn't for me..
14. ^ I got a Precision bass when I was going through a real punk phase. It's great for that and most other rock/metal. But now I've come back to some calmer stuff, and the P doesn't quite have the tone for it. Not to mention that the neck was too wide for my womanly hands. So I've now ordered a Fender Jazz.
15. Yes. If it becomes available again, I'll bump the thread and update it.
16. I could never justify spending half of that amount on a bass, nevermind the full £5,350. Especially on a white kitchen appliance-based product.
17. UPDATE: SOLD (PENDING THE USUAL)
18.
what is the small wooden block above the strings for? im guessing something to do with finger picking?
Thumbrest I think. Good luck with the sale, looks like a gorgeous bass. I'm in a similar situation to you TS, small hands + a P-bass.
19.
I recommend turning up to rehearsal with an old EB2, and a wall of 18's...........They'll all be begging you to bring the 'Ray to the next rehersal!!
That would just be cruel.
20. Bloody hell, I didn't expect this. Particularly the hole under the pickguard, I found it quite funny. Nevertheless, if it sounds good and needs a bit of work done, I'm sure it'll be worth it.
21. Bump
22.
I wanted to be a tennis player but misjudged the number of strings that were required, and size of bat.
Maybe table tennis is more your thing.
23. Interesting. I don't see colours, but in my head I can see an ascending line or descending, depending on the direction of the bassline. If you get me. Probably not unusual.
24.
Would you be interested in trading for a Squier TB Precision?I think the neck is more in line with a Jazz Cheers Dave
Sorry Dave, I'm after a Jazz, I need something more versatile. Thanks
25. Bump.
