*SOLD*

These basses are great; built really well and sound top notch for the price. Buy with confidence
4. Funny how people say that muscle memory and instinct takes over.. for me, if I stop concentrating or get complacent, no doubt, I'll mess up. I have to be thinking all the time (well, if it's a bit more of a complex song, that is).
5. Aye, this is a good 'un
6. I think Origin of Symmetry was their best album and nothing else has come too close. New one is decent but Black Holes, IMO, was a bit meh.
7. Hello!
8. Generally overused for 'w***ery' but when used in the right type of song, I have no problems.
9. My hands are small, I guess. But I've never tried a 5er if I'm honest.
10. Any Rickenbacker ^^
11. I reckon the rumours of Taylor not actually being able to play are a bit of nonsense. He seems comfortable and plays to the record on the 'Rio' live video - above. As for simplification of songs/ basslines, I'm sure we all do it to an extent, especially if they're a little crazy in the original.
12. Duran Duran is fantastic. One of my favourite bands to play along with (if I can keep up).
13. Oh my.. need money
14. Disadvantages: Ugly as sin
15. First bass owned: Hartke bass (out of some starter pack) 'Go To' Bass: Fender 70s RI Jazz 'Your' Bass: I'm a student. So that ^

17. Welcome fellow SW-er!
18. That Mothership pedal is a beast. Not quite sure I could find as much use for it though
19. Yeah, real shame about Kelly. He was from the West country too?
20. Not sure why I suggested downstrokes - was thinking of a different part of the song! Alternate, alternate
21. Not sure if it chimes with everyone else's definition of groove, but this does it for me. Particularly from 2:11 - really locking in. Sounds familiar too
22. I know precisely what you mean - I like pickstyle until it starts getting faster and changing strings - then I'd much rather use my fingers. I feel I have so much more freedom.
23. If you don't want to solve the problem yourself - you could take it to a local music shop and ask for your action lowered. I don't know too much about this but it could be lowering the bridge saddles or tinkering with the truss rod (which is really important to the welfare of the neck). Hope that helps.
24.
Cheers for the reply. Yeah back in the day when I played my bass a lot I always preferred fingers over pick but as my user name may hint at one of my fav bassists is JJ Burnel so I sometimes pay with a pick ( or plec as I used to call it LOL ).
That's fair enough My dad really got me into ELO tunes. Do you usually do alternate picking when using a plec? If so, perhaps just downstrokes would be great for octaves. I don't mean to state the obvious if this is what you're currently doing.
