  1. I hadn't even thought of that...damn you.
  2. The mild OCD in me is wanting to only buy seafoam/surf green basses and pedals from now on...
  3. I've had the amp (bought on here) and cabs from new since they were launched about a year or so ago. The bass is a new addition purchased on here from Joe. So glad I decided to as it sounds wonderful. "Everything from Marcus to Jaco" in his own words. The John East pre took some getting used to but a month on feels more natural. I usually set and forget all my other basses. I normally play 5 string high c on all my instruments but wanted a more standard low b setup as after many years of not being in a band forming one again with a few friends. Looking forward to gigging after what seems like a lifetime (technically having 3 young kids lifetimes...) It looks as good as it sounds...or sounds as good as it looks.
  4. On the more funk/soulful spectrum of gospel:
  5. I was hoping for something exciting in the ehb range too. I'll likely just end up with a 1005sms now and at some point drop in Aguilars.
  6. Agree on the pickups. Andertons have prices up now.
  7. Who will be the first to own one of these new ones? https://issuu.com/ibanezgermany/docs/2022_ibanez_fullline_germany I've been waiting to see the new EHBs personally. https://www.andertons.co.uk/brands/ibanez/ehb-series-basses Most intriguing is the introduction of the 37 inch multiscale BTBs. The blue is quite fetching! https://www.andertons.co.uk/brands/ibanez/btb-series-basses
  8. 2022 models in the wild: https://issuu.com/ibanezgermany/docs/2022_ibanez_fullline_germany The ehb1006ms is interesting to fill out the basic line. And those T1 pickups are an interesting choice. Be good to see reviews on them as they're in the new extended MS BTBs too. The new mid level of wood rather than paint but still with BH2s is interesting. Would have rather have seen another Nordstrand model. Now I know what's coming I'll still be going to get the ehb1005sms, I held of just in case but nothing tempting.
  9. I think the range they have at the moment is one of their best. I've owned the ehb1506ms and slightly regret selling it. I still want to find the 1005ms seafoam used or maybe the 1005sms. The only thing I'd like them to do is do the more premium without the figured tops and plain colour but with Aguilars already in.
  10. Sold
  11. I was first exposed to this kind of approach when I was asked to go on a Steve Martland workshop whilst in 6th form (23/24 years ago!?). As a non classical musician who played electric bass it was probably the first time I was in an environment that 'accepted' the instrument outside of your typical jazz/rock gigs etc.
  12. I've long been a fan of Nik Bartsch approach to minimal composition and the "zen funk" sound of some of the grooves. Modul 36 here and 35 are particular favourites:
  13. I posted this before but to your point the options for pickups meant some routing and ultimately I asked for the plate to be made around it to hide any nastyness where the screws on the pickups didn't align anymore. If you don't mind a bit of work the Aguilars do sound fantastic
  14. Love the black hardware. I was going to go black until I saw a set of hipshots on here so went for them.
  15. Final reduction £950
  16. One of the best (my favourite) funk/blues/fusion guitar trio albums was a CD I bought from a UK band. Will have the dig the CD out as I can't find anything specific on them online. They were called 'JuJu' I think. Or that was the name of their album.
  17. Reduced to £1050. Desired trades with appropriate cash either way-I'm aware they're pretty niche but you never know...: Ibanez EHB1005ms (seafoam) Ibanez EHB1005sms Ibanez ANB205 Kiesel Zeus 5
  18. A quick collection of fusion(ish) tunes ive been a fan of playing over the years. Some more classic fusion and some newer.
  19. This tbh. I was a massive fanboy of Zender when I started learning bass at 14 (95). Even drew a little jamiroquai man on my encore bass. My first band at 16-19 were definitely this kind of acid jazz/funk vibe too.
  20. That is great. I've always loved this pretty raw version by The Big Apple Band (Nile Rogers and Bernard Edwards pre chic)
  21. I think I've found my my Yamaha my parents bought me that I unfortunately had to sell and I think resold on a few times here: Did you buy it? For sentimental reasons if you see this for sale let me know.
  22. Lamont deserves so much more love and visibility. Filthy bass part and solo.
  23. https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/ibanez-short-scale-bass-guitar-/1414133374 Funky 70s ibanez short scale for sale here thought this group might likee. A few OG bits missing but likely lots of mojo.
