  1. Name that string... Flatwounds. Black wrapping at machineheads. Plain on ball end. Broken G string that I'd like to replace but appreciate may also mean buying a new full set.
  2. Cheers. I was playing along to it earlier so now I can see if I was right on that run!
  3. Enjoying this, both the walking intro and the groove from 22seconds onwards.
  4. This would suggest buying a bass from Thomann means for me as the buyer nothing has changed and THEY need to pay the VAT? If so, what are the chances of being able to buy something now which has the VAT removed (potentially incorrectly going by that guidance) and receiving the bass but then needing to pay the courier VAT which technically you shouldn't need to.
  5. So I've been trying to sell some basses as quickly as possible as I'd love this bass, but I fear Brexit and now additional fees has meant this will likely be a no go for me. I'm gutted. GLWTS
  6. That's the reason I'm getting one. I'm pretty much always e-c. Never had an issue with any other nut etc.
  7. Used but in excellent condition. Not gigged and only used in a smoke and pet free home. 2 marks present: one on back lower bout and one front/side upper bout (under where you'd rest your forearm). See photos. Slightly reluctant sale as trying to get funds for another bass by selling multiple basses but they haven't all sold as quick as I'd like. So this one being added to the mix. 8. For sale is my Boss GT-1B that had been very lightly used only in a smoke and pet free home. Never gigged. Pretty much as new. No box unfortunately, but manual can be found online. Not that it's really needed, so easy to use and get great sounds from. One of the best value and sounding multi effects - bought as a birthday present for me but I just don't really use any effects so it doesn't get played so makes sense to go to someone that will. Buyer pays postage.
  9. So I had another go at adjusting just in case I was missing something and maybe got it a bit more refined especially on the higher strings. Even though I already set I up very low when I got it, actually after also tweaking the truss rod and action more all even lower I'm even happier. They really do play effortlessly.
  10. So on reflection and the last thing purchased in 2020...but I wish it was the first-this K&M multi-bass stand! Before I had 3 individual stands and a few basses strewn around the room. I got a gift voucher from work for £100 and immediately spent it on this and so thankful I did. Even only yesterday my wife walked past the office/study/music room and went 'you know, I really like that stand'. She likes neatness.
  11. Ibanez state 18mm for the 1505MS and 17mm for the 1506MS. I have a GWB1 which is 16.5mm and there is no way this 6er is as narrow as that or even narrower. I wish it was. I'm not faulting the math, unless I'm setting it up incorrectly?
  12. I concur. I have the EHB1506MS and love the top and pretty much agree with all other comments. For many years although I started out as solely 6 string I was solely 5 string with a high C most recently so it's taking a bit of adjusting back to 6. I'm dying to get the short scale 5 string for my general use and it's almost guaranteed that will likely become my main bass to pick up and practise with. Although I'm an Ibanez fanboy this range typically wouldn't be my thing regarding aesthetics but the ease of playing, weight, ease of access to upper frets, general ergonomics etc mean it gets a significant amount of play time Vs my other basses. The look has now fully grown on me too. My one ask would be slightly narrower string spacing on the 6 even after adjusting to closet possible.
  13. Ok plan B. Turns out the grey is only for US and Canadian market...
  14. Yeah they only have the 4 short but not in multiscale. And I thought exactly the same about the ANS finish.
  15. https://www.ibanez.com/usa/products/detail/ehb1005sms_1p_01.html ok...the Matte Grey metallic it is...
  16. Yes! These aren’t as up my street but for completeness:
  17. New for 2021-pretty much what I asked Santa for. A higher quality and better balance short scale Ibanez than the current TMB. Ideally around 30.75” (who else can’t afford Matt Garrisons new Fodera...) I have a 1506MS but I’ll be ordering on of these as soon as I can.
  18. Well I got the OC5 for 'birthday' as the first pedal to start replacing my pedal board from and funnily enough I yhink the C4 is next. It's that or an envelope filter. I'm still torn which way to go.
  19. I have number 4. My first bass and what got me into playing. I gave it to my niece to learn and by suprise got it back last year as they'd kept it. Apart from sentimental reasons I do love it as a pure P bass too. Swamp Ash. Solid build. Great sound. Mine is still 100% stick but been toying with upgrading loom and pickups too. £20 is an utter bargain for a bass like this. I've always wanted to get another one.
  20. Check out from 28.40. 20m of some of the finest solo bass. From classical, to jazz, to blues, to rock.
  21. My mum bless her gave me £20 in a wallet to buy something I want. Shame it's £1200 short to get the ANB205 I want in the for sale section...
  22. A couple of years at Birmingham Conservatoire here. Tbh a lesson with Fred wasn't a lesson in the traditional sense. In between the stories and bites of outstanding improv I'd get him to play a whole tune around a particular technique, concept or theory and just take it all in and try and practise what I saw picking up things on the way.
