1. hmmm........... If my these VM Jaguar Basses dont show up in the next week or so, I could be seriously tempted by this.....nice plank!
2.
Still not a real Jag, it's about 30 knobs and switches light!
Thats precisiely why I really like it! Volume, Tone....job done!
3. I'm seriously contemplating getting one of these as a stand-by for my p-bass (which has a j-pup fitted too) & if need be switching the pups and fitting a badass. Ive emailed sounds live to see what their lead-time is and when they might expect to have one in store in the toon so I can try before I buy. I'll let everyone know what I hear back from them and will let yous know when I've had a chance to have a shot.....
4. its just the best colour, fiesta red....the choice of my next bass.....will post when its here
5.
I now live right near soundslive...do they have a massive warehouse somewhere as the bass stock is pretty low
Aye-they have a place on the team valley where they do the t'internet side of the bizz and everythings kept there....if you''re interested in something and its not in the shop but they have it, they can bring it to the shop for you to try out
6. hmmm well ive been using silverstone covers....they do different thicknesses etc and seem v hardwearing, which means they're going to last.....if you want something to fold up and put in your pocket etc, you could use a sheet, black bag? silverstone covers
7. ah! was looking to see if anyone has ever posted about these- ive had one for over a year now and cant fault it....multifx have come on a long way since the last time i tried any (in the 90s - i must be getting old as all of a sudden that seems / sound like a LOOOONG time ago!)
8. i dont really hear that many people go on about these, but i have a line 6 bass floor pod- i know the purists mightnt be keen, but honestly, i would suggest you give 1 a whirl.....great for practice at home too and to get a quick, decent sound if you are wanting to record any ideas etc floorpod
9. If yer not gigging yerself this friday, the 29th.....pop on doon to the Star Inn on Westagate Rd to see me and the boys....and the smallest loudest singer you might ever see....ever! We dont play in the toon that often, so it would be good to see some faces.....
10. hmmmm....im torn.......sometimes its nice to be different and its certainly that.....hits that angular 60's retro vibe.....i know a lot of stuf back then, like the burns' had loads of knobs and switches on but that what spoils it for me......volume, bass, treble for me any day.......
11. I think we need a bit more info.....to be honest on the front does it say anything - "series 6" How many band is the EQ? is it vinyl or carpet covered? does the front of the cab have red stripes on it? better still.....have u any photos? it doesnt sound like a series 6 715 to me, more like a 1215 which was 200watts and had an extra speaker cab input, but then that would conflict with what you're saying.....sounds like a post-series 6 model to me....
12. glad too see we're all feeling the love for them...there are some truly beautiful finishes......but i wonder how much? must be a few hundred more than a regular ray.....
13.
The jack socket location seems so much more sensible too.
'yup thats where nature intended them to go back in '76......makes perfect sense....
14. Haven't seen anyone else talking about these yet on here- but it appears that a new line of 'rays is set to be unleashed, based on the originals (2 band eq's, string thru bodies, bridge mutes etc etc) have a look here MM Site & here whats everyone think? Will be interesting to see how much these are going to cost..... theres some lovely colours there....

I used to be in a prog band called Force Majeure and I played bass in Howard Bakers band. Old pic of me on tour with Bakers band, ATB Dave
eeeeeeeh-thats nuts that is....i certainly do remember you.....and everyone else who's said hi so far.....good to see i've found out where everyone lurks.......
16. have tried lots of basses in my time but feel like i can get all the tones i need from these 2....had em both since the early 90's..... running them thru a bass floorpod into an ampeg B200r which ive only had for a few months (had a Trace before that) but loving the sweetness i can get.....
17.
I bought a new Stingray in 1979 and it came with factory fitted flats - so Leo must have preferred them then.
hmmmm.....we just might give this a go Howard, when I bring the Stingray back in the new year for a set up, methinks....
18. heres my #1 Bass '79 'Ray.....bought from Howard the Bass Dr in 1991 and still goin strong.....
