1. What have I inherited from my old man? Well I never worry if I lock myself out. We'll leave it at that.
2. Orange Terror. Gigged it a couple of times through Happy Jacks Barefaced cabs. Match made in heaven, Huge volume and bags of grit available.
3. Ignore my previous post. Just trying to spice things up as per the boredom thread. No Rush fan myself, although I did see them live about 20 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have a theory that a lot of famous bands/artists have too many people around them telling them everything they do is great and they start believing it. A lack of criticism and self regulating crap filter ends up with poor output.
4. [sub]Never heard of him.[/sub]
5. How do they sound in a band mix. That's the biggie. I often get a great sound/tone dialled in solo and when the others turn up to play they ruin it and it's lost in the mix or sounds odd.
6.
is it purely the eq that you can save in the 3 presets, ive been thinking about getting a 450? with one of the cheaper tc cabs andy
Don't know. I've got the Classic. I'm not a pre-set kinda guy.
7.
Do you DI pre or post EQ? Im a post kinda guy meself
Post always.
8. A little update. My favourite thing to do now is use my Sansamp in front of the TC with my recording setting and tweak the TC for the room like a having a very good EQ pedal.. I quite like the compressor. Think it works well on low dial settings. The portability of an the Classic and an RS112 for rehearsals is great. I'm still loving the fact when I turn up for a PA gig the DI just works really well. Next gig up I'm not going through the PA and I'm looking forward to releasing the OTB on the audience. I like this having two amps thing.
9.
I can build you up a feedback looper for about £30 posted. Drop me a PM if you're interested
PM'd
10.
they're dead easy to make if you're on a budget
I'm too hamfisted with a soldering iron. If someone wants to make me one for a small gratuity though........
11. A feedback looper sounds the ticket I shall investigate. Thanks.
12. The guitarist and I would like a pedal that does bleeps, bloops, white noise, whatever. Doesn't matter really as long as it sounds a bit dissonant/oddball. Just for a couple of songs we have in mind. Don't want to spen too much either.
13.
I'm sorry? What? I said ... WHAT? You'll have to ... I said ... YOU'LL HAVE TO SPEAK UP A BIT!
Half past seven. More tea vicar?
14. [sup]I'm working on a solution to this......[/sup]
15. Charidee gig. Happy Jack will be our sound man!
16. Got a Thumper in my Precision. Very pleased with the balance between output 'thump' and clarity. I've also had Precisions with a Dimarzio model P, SD SPB1 vintage and SB2 hot pickups. The Wizard is my favourite for retaining the Precision sound whilst adding a bit of oomph. Sounds great on recording. Great service too.
17. The guitarist and I had a similar problem at our last gig. They had these red led light cans that made our markers invisible. As to those who say you shouldn't need them. Well some of us do. Even if it's just a quick glance for reassurance. Especially if there's a bit of dancing around and whatnot going on onstage. I've got Rymans orange dot stickers cut in half on the bass I (of course) didn't bring.
18. Email Zoom UK. They were incredibly helpful with my Q3 problem as I've posted in Off Topic today. Here's the email address.... "][email protected]
19. On my home assembled Precision I covered a path from the neck to the end of the body with masking tape and used a straight edge, a tape measureand the bridge itself as a template to pencil mark it all out direct on to the body. I then drilled guide holes for the screws of the bridge and removed all the masking tape and screwed the bridge on. I was chuffed when It worked perfectly. I have very limited DIY skills.
20. Best thing that ever happened to me in a band context. Dynamics are so much easier without some extra guitarist chugging away or noodling about to no great purpose. The gaps are the best bit now.
21.
can you guess who it is ad?
Err. That was me. I don't identify to any of them. If I was held at gunpoint I'd go with the upright guy. He looks like he's having fun. He's playing and smoking a stogie like he just don't care. But then he's probably playing jazz which is not good. And now I come to think of it all that smoke would get in your eyes. Iron Maiden don't remotely appeal to me on any level at all. The other one may well be Mr Pratt but he does look like a geography teacher who wishes he was somewhere else. I'd have gone for Sid over these 3 if you put him in!
22. The bald one who plays with a plectrum.
23.
It's just a site that hosts audio - a bit like flickr does for photos. There's some nice features like being able to leave comments on people's tracks, joining groups etc tacked on.
Thanks Earbrass.
24. Can somebody give me a brief run down on what Soundcloud is? Genuine question. It's passed me by. Do I need to be doing stuff on it. Do the kids dig it, etc.
25. I'm pretty happy. A mini class D 500w Tech 21 BDDI head would instantly get bought if it existed though.
