5. Immaculate condition and comes in a really nice Lakland gig bag. I'll even chuck in a mint green pickguard. I paid £600 for it - you can have it for £575. Trades welcome. Collection or meet within a reasonable distance. Pics (more on request) With original white pickguard ...and minty green
6.
I assume that you have since checked it and found it to be in full working order? S.P.
It sounds fine at bedroom volume but I won't get chance to put some serious welly through it until Saturday. The other lads think it was a monitor issue - I hope so.
7. A strange weekend for us - played a tiny pub in Chorley on Friday, it was smaller than my living room. Had about 25 punters and it was standing room only. We expected a sh*tty night but hey ho, it was a chance to try out my new cab. It turned out to be an excellent gig, great atmosphere and we went down really well. Saturday night promised to be a stonker and we were all looking forward to it. It was a 50th birthday bash for two bikers (twins) and it was at British Aerospace in Preston - it was a large room with about 300 people in it. We had to hire a big PA / soundman. The day started badly - the PA man turned up on Saturday afternoon and began wheeling his gear in through the front of the club only to have some psycho bitch from hell chewing his nuts for not using the rear entrance and accusing us of damaging their new tiles (which alledgedly cost £40,000 - yuh). Our singer jumped in and basically told her to f*ck off and get back in the kitchen when her husband heard the row and came striding out - they had to be seperated. Lovely. The sound was dreadful - the bass was there but no defintion and I wished I'd just backlined it but that would have made for an unbalanced sound on stage. Towards the end of the second set, there was some awful low frequency feedback that was really bothering me but nobody else surprisingly. Apparently, it couldn't be heard out front and the punters loved us. The rest of the band camped in the field with all the bikers but I went home sulking thinking my new cab was kaput.
8. We're busy that night otherwise we would probably have done it for you - sorry that's no help but it does bump the thread up.
9.
That is a big place but i don't think i could play to people sitting down.
Yeh - I know what you mean but we were told to go on and they hadn't finished their meal! It was the Army Officer's Christmas do and there was only about 100 of them. The room was way over the top - you can only see about two thirds of it in the pic. We hired a 10k rig for it.
10.
Looks like some of us can still afford a holiday though .
Yeh - but I've had to cut back to three this year Matt.
11. Very nice - the Marcus is a cracking bass and that is a luvvly P for sure.
12. Biggest for us was the big ballroom at Norbreck Castle in Blackpool (pic below) The smallest will be tonight's gig at The Jackson's in Chorley - I kid you not, my living room at home is bigger than the venue.
13. It's Dave's Russ - I'm thinking of doing the same mod to mine.
14.
Hey Al, welcome home & hope you had a great time! (Sounds like it, anyway!) How did you cope with not being able to GAS for basses for such a prolonged period?? Rich.
D'ya know what, I thought I'd struggle but kept myself occupied for the duration with a Telecaster and an old Eko 12 stringer which my mate left at the villa. I want a Tele now
If there's a man to get some movement going in the 'For Sale' section, t'is you Alan. Agree with you on the site - people seem to have got their sense of humour back.
My birthday this weekend, wallet's at the ready Yeh - much better atmosphere on here now - seems to have livened up too.
Ah, a holiday - that explains the slump in the market then! Hope you had a good one!
I did thanks Mike

16.
Welcome back! Hope the holiday was a cracker
Sheer bliss - we had a fantastic time thanks - looking forward to going back in October
17. Just got home from my hols last night and was catching up when I noticed there's a lot of new members and it's great stuff We'll have to resurrect the "Show your faces" thread. Bit depressing to see a lot of gear not moving though, a sign of the times I supppose - anyway, good to be back on the board.
18. I'm chuffed to hear you haven't jacked Russ - nice rig mate PS - still owe you some money mate.
19. Ahem...
20. If it sounds half as good as the 410R I had, you'll love it man.
21. My brief encounter with this stunning bass has given me Thumb GAS. I never thought that'd happen
22. Cheers fellas - I'll bring you back a bar of rock
23. I played this bass yesterday and it's a fantastic instrument. Ash is a top bloke too - buy with confidence peeps.
24. I now realise my 3 year long quest to find the perfect bass for me has been a futile exercise, recent fumblings have forced me to admit I'm just a basstart and will never settle on any one bass. Last week I was drooling over Greene King's collection including an ACG custom, his Modulus Flea, then his Warwick Thumb - all basses I'd never really considered before. Then yesterday, I played Smash's G&L Tribute - what a bass for the money, then a really nice Jaguar, an astounding Fender Urge followed by a Status (can't remember the model - the wooden bodied ones that don't look like Statii) and I loved 'em all. Just had to share that before going on my hols.
