1.
How d'you mean, 'maxed out'?
Won't tighten any further
2. Just bought a bass for a back up and just doing my boding session with it and noticed the truss rod's maxed out. Is there anything I can do?
3. I can really recommend the Two Against Nature DVD - I watch it at least 3 times a week. Thanks for the heads up Pete on the new release.
4.
Maybe I could come for a play if it's still unsold next week?
I suspect that if the seller checks his messages, he'll probably find it's sold several times over already Mike.
5. I love Smiths ever since I had a dabble on Crazykiwi's at a Bass Bash what seems a long time ago. Quality...enjoy.
6. I've just joined an 80s trib band to fill out my time and I have to say that although I was never into that stuff, I'm really enjoying learning and playing some of it especially the Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet stuff. Some nice bass lines - and I don't mind admitting it took me quite a while to master 'Rio'.
7. I used to play in a very busy Motown band - the best head I used for that type of stuff was an Ashdown EVO 500 RC. Looked quite vintage too to the casual observer.
8. So what's wrong with going through loads of basses - why does it matter? Dip your bread Matt....but always wear a condom.
9. Nice one Hamster. I've never suspected a set to be bogus, they always come in the right packaging and I always buy from the same source but there have been subtle differences in sets. I'm so used to Sunbeams, I guess I'm sensitive to any variations. The B string on my replacement set is duff to the point of being unusable almost but I can't be bothered to return it.
10. I've never had more than two basses at any one time and for the last 6 months have been down to one bass. It was a conscious decision to cut right back to concentrate on playing and get to know my Shuker without the distraction of a second or third bass. It worked - but, although my Shuker's the best bass I've ever played, I'm bored with it now so I've just bought a cheap bass to spice things up a bit.
11. I've been playing for virtually nothing for about 18 months. We play 150-200 seat theatres which are usually a bit less than full these days and by the time we've paid £300-£500 to hire the venue, £100 + for PA / soundman and about £100 on publicity, there's not much left to split 6 ways.
12. Congratulations fella
13. Thanks Lozz - I saw that on Saturday and it set me thinking. I have plenty of volume but I'd like to get full whack out of my head.
14. I have a pristine 8ohm UL410 Series 2 which I love to bits - it comes in a superb cover but would prefer a 4 ohm jobby (also mint), any takers?
15. Did you see my PM Wayne?
16. Give somebody an inch and all that... PM2 sent.
17. Hi Ali, the guy hasn't been on here since mid December.
18. Yep - always had great service from Stringbusters and they always get the first call.
19. Well - the replacement strings came...a 4 string set and a seperate B string so a bit cobbled together then. Undaunted, I took a chance and put them on and shazzam, my Shuker is singing to me once again. No intonation problems and the strings look, feel and sound like Sunbeams. The ones I sent back must have been a Friday afternoon set I guess
20. I'll tell you the truth Chris, I picked up a Combustion and played a few riffs on it and never ven noticed the frets were wonky. I've never played anything with fanned frets before and it was like I've been playing them all my life. Bit tricky when you get past the 12th fret but no big deal. The build quality is stunning on the Afterburner and ABZ and they're very light.
21. Been to Bass Direct, tried a few Combustions....nice...tried a couple of ABZs....ooh very nice and then there was the Afterburner 1 ...meltdown. Gotta have one of them
22. Very nice - I'm going to Bass Direct today, could very easily be tempted by a fanned fret beauty like this.
23. Yeh - seen them dannybuoy, I think Bass Direct sell them. I think I need to go there and check 'em out.

Pity there's a string missing otherwise I'd be on the M65 right now.
