Yeah it’s just a Fender, mid to late 70’s probably, not sure about it being early 80’s, but maybe. That’s just how the lefty logo was at that time. Si

So, just how many basses do you own ????

- Lakland 44-94 - Lakland 44-64 (on order, should arrive November) - Lakland 55-01 - Fender ‘71 Precision - Fender Mustang - ACG Krell 6er - Bass Collection Jive Fretless That is everything i’ll ever need......certainly for my year of purchasing abstinence anyway haha Si -
Very interesting, there was thinking it was all relatively above board (which it is now anyway). Every day is a school day! Cheers Mick. Si

It's NOT EVEN been nine whole days since I bought any bass gear...

Are we seriously suggesting that at this point in her career, Tal isn’t aware or capable enough to source a bass that is perfectly comfortable for her? Is the boob ‘hanging over the top’ awkward/uncomfortable for her.....or for you? Why is it even mentioned if not by her? Si -
Hang on now, you have to be careful with your language here. The shape was officially licensed by Warwick, nothing wrong with that! Si

Maybe, but remember that we're looking at this through the eyes of bassists, our live (and often studio) world is all about 'DI'. All of Line6 stuff is squarely aimed at guitarists, we're an afterthought. As such, guitarists are simply interested in Send/Returns and instrument outs, simple because in a live environment their cab is usually mic'd. Yes there are other use cases, some guitarists like to DI with in-ears etc etc, but they really are fringe use cases. So from a guitarist point of view, XLR is wasted real-estate and eating a few pence per unit into their revenue. Si

This is covered extensively in the rest of the thread if you want to give it a read. TL;DR The outputs of the stomp can be switched to line-level (as opposed to instrument level), and are balanced. ie you can easily run line-level to an appropriate line-level input over long distances, or instrument level to an appropriate input. Doesn't help if you want a DI out whilst also running to an amp however, unless you run a dual mono output with one side going to your amp and one side going to a mic (XLR) input of a desk via a 1/4" to XLR cable. Convoluted but doable it seems. Personally I wouldn't bother and just run mono out of the pedal into a DI box, with a thru from that to my amp. Si

The pictures above aren’t of the actual thing, just of other bags in the range (Guitar, full size bass etc), the actual shortscale is here: https://shop.fender.com/en-GB/accessories/gig-bags/fbss-610-short-scale-bass-gig-bag/0991521206.html Si

All my bass plugins sound awfull in reaper (laptop)
Sibob replied to erik.leroy's topic in General Discussion
Your computer or DAW (in this case Reaper) will have zero effect on the tone of anything. And so, I suspect, as someone else has mentioned, that you’re playing it through soeakers/headphones that are less than optimal?! Si -
I’ll be annoyed if this is the only offering, again just treating short-scales as ‘student’ instruments. Si
-
Fender have the cheaper one listed now: https://shop.fender.com/en-GB/accessories/gig-bags/fbss-610-short-scale-bass-gig-bag/0991521206.html Still no sign/news of others in the range. Si

I just think that's Joe being honest about his experiences, as he should be. Everyone else experiences will be different based on a number of different factors (strap height etc etc). Thanks for the insight Joe, I certainly wasn't aware that Warwick had never made a 19mm spaced 5 string, was aware of the Broad Neck 20mm option though, played a few of those years ago, actually very comfortable. Si

I"m currently all La Bella, best strings I've ever played: 760FL on my 71 Precision 760FS on my upcoming Lakland 44-64 (had La Bella send strings direct to Lakland for me) 760F-MUS on my Mustang Gold White Nylons on my Lakland 55-01 RX Nickels on my Lakland 44-94 & ACG 6er Si

True, although I’ve seen too many instances of unforeseen long waits with new products (not Line6 I should add) to drop nearly £500 on, as you quite rightly say, an interest free loan lol. We’ll see Si

That footprint and functionality is interesting to me for sure. I love my M5, and it's a natural progression on from that! The biggest point of contention is when it might arrive in shops, it is most likely going to be available during my gear-buying hiatus (yes I'm serious about it lol). So Jan 2020 might be the first time I get hold of one, by which time it will have probably been discontinued if the standard HX is anything to go by 😂 Si
-
Oh GuitarGuitar did say end of November though......whether you want to believe that is another thing Si
-
Ah gotcha, although that's a very strange business decision. Release the HX, then 6 months later (or however long), release a better version in a smaller box (albeit less foot-switches). That's a helluva End Of Life cycle on the HX! Also a shame GuitarGuitar couldn't tell me the that reason for the price difference lol Anyway, still looks decent for the money! Si
-
Yeah I figured they weren't to scale lol. But not sure why the Stomp is £50 MORE than the HX? After a quick eChat with GuitarGuitar, neither are they. Si

Lol at GuitarGuitar

I think I was getting a bit carried away that people meant that a 'balanced' output was relevant to the level of the signal, so I went off on one haha. Quite right that it would resolve the long cable impedance issue, and of course if you were running the outputs as switched to Line-level, you could run it straight to a PA's Line-In, but that also means you have no outputs going to your amp, so great for running as part of an ampless setup, otherwise you'll want a DI box haha. Si
-
IMHO = In My Honest Opinion Si
-
Oh that's quite cool, but my points above still stand. The switching feature relies on you sending the signal to a line-in on a desk.....don't send it to an XLR mic-in via a 1/4" to XLR cable haha. If you want to send to an XLR (Mic) input, you'll want (need) a DI box. Si
