They’re called pedals because you operate them with your foot. All of the setups you have replied to are footswitch operated by the guitarist/bassist in order to achieve different tones. Colloquially, they are all pedals on boards, hence pedalboards. Move on. Si

I’ve used my Markbass LM2’s with a Barefaced Super Compact (plus a G2 Midget sometimes) for years now, my fave amp combo ever, and I’ve experimented with a whole bunch. I suspect there will be losses for some customers as their operating costs would have been partly funded by ticket sales….so will have been partly spent I expect. This is what I mean, they’re not coming back from this, next year won’t happen, either because they won’t bother, or even less people will engage with it and it will be cancelled again. Which is a shame. Si

I mean, it’s just a combination of loudness, EQ and setup no? Boosted mids and highs, a healthy ‘clank’ to your setup and attack/play style, then just let your amp do the loudness if you need more. The LH-3 is much less polite than the previous Bartolini setup they used. I actually prefer the Barts, but for ‘aggressive’, the LH-3 stuff is great. In any case, either bass will be awesome, I’m just saying don’t sleep on the 55-02, extremely versatile, quad-coil bridge pickup etc. Si

@AJC08 Sometimes I think that people mistake loudness for tonal aggressiveness. MFD pickups are indeed loud! But the Lakland LH3 pickup/pre system is equal to them tonally I’d say. So with that said, perhaps you’re looking at the wrong Lakland?! You‘re seemingly not bothered about having a FSO (Fender Shaped Object) bass, because of your G&L suggestion, so why not look at a Lakland 55-02 instead?! More expensive than the Tributes, but more versatile I think. Si

So, I actually managed to win one of these in an Instagram competition very recently and it’s just arrived with me. Overall I’m actually really impressed, I need to weigh it, as it feels heavier than the advertised 8lbs, but weight can be deceptive. I love the finish (but then I’m a sucker for gold basses). It’s finished perfectly all over I’d say, with the only minor exception being the open truss rod access, which is a little rough inside (par for the course?!). Love the roasted neck, and the rolled fingerboard edges make all the difference. Bridge is actually solid, almost a Badass vibe to it. Tuners are fine, work perfectly well, but they kinda *look* cheap….IMO they’d come across better if they had some Shergold branding on the gear enclosure…but that’s just me with my Marketing hat on haha, very minor point. It actually came very well setup, no case or gigbag though, fairly usual at this price point though. Extremely playable out of the box. The pickup locations are pretty new to me, so I’m gonna have fun seeing what I can make work on gigs, but just playing about at home, through my HX Stomp (Regal preamp naturally), the bridge soloed sounds cool, roll the tone back a bit for a slightly more plumby (because shortscale) Jaco bark. Neck pickup with the tone all the way off is dub city, which I love, but both pickups together with the tone up full or just slightly rolled off sounds great and will be very useable I think. More to come, nice to own a shortscale again after I sold my Serek. Cheers Si

Might anyone happen to have a schematic for the Tonefactor Cream Pie Deluxe? Can’t find anything online other than a vero layout, but I don’t have the know how to create a schem from such a layout. Anyone stashing one? Lol Si

If you’re going into the DI from the output of an HX Stomp, then a Passive DI would be best. I currently have the Stagebug SB2 directly after my Stomp. Si
