  1. Not much to say, immaculate and boxed Meatbox Reissue up for sale. Ridiculous pedal, but a lot of fun if you’re that way inclined haha. No velcro, basically as new, never used. £115 incl. UK postage. Cheers Si
  2. Took this in as a part-ex from Clarky of this parish recently. I was hoping to keep it, as it’s quite a lovely Precision, but it turns out that my son’s 11+ tuition is actually going to be quite expensive 😅 Anyway, MIJ Precision from their ‘Traditional 60s’ series, seemingly most notable as it merges some 60’s styling (inflicting a nice deep burst), with a more modern/comfortable B-width neck. This one comes with a cream Dimarzio Model P fitted, but is also supplied with the original black Fender pickup too. Strung with Thomastic Infeld flats, my first experience of them and they’re lovely. Currently setup beautiful with a low action. Weight is 7.6lbs A few bumps and scrapes on the body which I’ve tried to photograph, but nothing major, and certainly nothing that effects playability, the neck is immaculate. £750 Full specs are: Only looking for cash on this one I’m afraid. Comes with a decent but simple gigbag, so pickup/meet-up preferred unless you want to ship me an appropriate case for me to send it back in. Cheers Si
  3. Might be helpful to let people know where you are for collection 🙂 Si
  4. Well used but looked after, a couple of little marks, but otherwise in good condition. Velcro on back. Unboxed but will be packed securely. £30inc UK postage. Cheers Si

Quick and dirty Fuzzdog kit from a couple of evenings ago, not my finest work, but probably the quickest I’ve done. Mr Creosote (Phat Phuk B clone). Bodged the germanium a little (socketed and legs cut too short), but it works fine after a mild breakdown about the LED not working. Will swap the germanium at some point so it’s more solid in the sockets, but yeah, sounds nice. Si
  6. Just did a bass part-ex with Mark and, unsurprisingly, was a joy! Thanks 🙂 Si
  7. Oh wow, and I thought 9 months for my upcoming Lakland was tough to deal with haha. Si
  8. Is it just him building? That’s a lot of orders if it’s a one-man operation?! Like…looooong wait times? Si
  9. Get rid of the massive chorus and get a TC Corrona Mini…there will be a toneprint which sounds as good for sure. Other options would be to swap the PolyTune for a PolyTune Mini, and the OC5 for the MXR Vintage Octave (sounds the same assuming you’re using the OC2 model on it). Si
  10. There’s not really any point in further comments until you post a clear picture of the setup. It will be helpful to see a clear, top-down, image so that we can trace the cabling etc. Si

Ah ok cool, yeah drop me a text, interesting to see what you have. Cheers Si
  12. Out of curiosity, what makes you feel like Origin can achieve that feel when they will also not be tube driven? Si
  13. Has anyone been to Bass Bros quite recently and tried a few of their MIJ/CIJ Fenders?

Not recently... but I did a while ago and it was a good experience. All the basses I was interested in (which were the Japanese Fenders) were exactly as I'd expected from the descriptions on the site, and I ended up buying one. Not sure that answers your question, but compared to most bricks'n'mortar places I've been to it's probably the one I'd choose to make a journey to again.

      @b7l4s I’ll drop you a message 🙂

  14. Bit of a feeler, but I’m having a re-evaluation of what I’m using and what is just sitting in a cupboard. The bass is actually in pretty decent condition, considering its age, but the discoloring of the body makes it look more ‘aged’ than it actually is. The bass came to me with a pretty awful refret, so I had to have that redone properly, which resulted in the fingerboard (only) having a good clean and an overspray. A new nut too. It’s an awesome job and the neck is now super playable as a result. Original hardware including pickup covers, pots both date to ‘78, pickup dates to ‘77. Now the good news….it weighs 8.87lbs. That’s right, a late 70’s punk/rock machine under 9lbs!! Comes with a simple gig bag, and so I would prefer not to post it. Meet up/collection preferred. Part-ex’s I’d be interested in: - Noble bass Pre - Lakland 44-64/Duck Dunn (straight P, no PJ) - Fender PB70 CIJ/MIJ Cheers Si
  15. Lame counterfeits, stick with the real deal from Aguilar! Si
  16. Nice, very similar to my latest home/fly-board. Tuner->Multi FX->DI. Si
  17. Just bought a Cioks DC7 from Jim. As above, perfect transaction, very happy. Thanks so much 🙂 Si
  18. A couple of changes to my home/desk practice setup: Dedicated tuner allows me 5x separate effects readily available on the HX Stomp. The Element then acts as my Bluetooth/Headphone interface for practicing and learning tunes, as well as a DI/Cab sim for FOH if I gigged it. Can’t reach the amp out from the Element in this layout (because it’s located in a silly place), but I can just take the amp out from the HX Stomp anyway, so I’m sorted. Pedaltrain Nano and powered by a Cioks Sol. Si

Does anyone have an interesting colour/finish 1590B enclosure they don’t want? Undrilled. Si
  20. 100%, I’m on the wait list, I have 3 or 4 tracks I regularly play that I know I can use those presets on. I fake it now with fuzzy/chorus/octave/envelope…but I’m all for an easy life haha. I also genuinely think that IMA knows what’s up. He’s not just marketing hype, he genuinely is an excellent product/tone developer, who just so happens to have a very large audience too. MXR made a smart move on that front. Si
  21. I am also now very conscious that I’m further derailing the thread. It might be better to move to the FI thread if we continue this train of thought. While discussion around comparisons is inevitable, derailing this further from the MXR pedal isn’t fair to the OP. Cheers Si
  22. Oh there you go, I had no idea that existed. Exactly! Although, without this turning into an R&D session, I’m not sure why they both sizes exist?! End of Life the big version, dump the savings from tooling costs into the small version to get the price down slightly. But even a hike of £20-30 would still be palatable for the feature-set and form factor probably (without researching). If the big version had more features/controls, totally get it. But otherwise, £60 has been added for form factor alone, whereas the opportunity was there to only do V4 as the smaller version, reducing the size and adding/upgrading features from V3, therefore increasing the perceived value and legitimizing the price increase further. Anyway, no-one asked me to monologue lol. YMMV. Etc. Si p.s. This is just after a very cursory look at the FI offerings, I may well have missed something and so apologies if I have. Wrangling an 17 month old at the same time is not great for detail haha.
  23. Assuming it was a loaner pedal, time to get that pedal back and have it sent to someone who will actually make a video! If it was payment for content, then, I love Gaz, but that’s bad form not to have fulfilled his part of the deal after a year. For me, form factor and workflow is key here. The FI sounds great, but for my brain, the form factor and general workflow of the MXR wins out, for others, those things won’t matter so much, so for the price-point, the FI probably wins out. Shrink the FI down by what is probably nearly half, and I could perhaps overlook/relearn workflow…but I’m guessing that’s a significant undertaking, if not impossible. Luckily, both are available to us all….what a time to be alive 🙂 Si
  24. I hear you, I went searching for my old gated kid-paint one a few months ago, but not a sausage. Wonder what it’s upto now. Still the small enclosure one I have now with tone bypass is excellent. And pink. Si
