I’ve been running this setup for the last couple of gigs for testing, the same basic components as my ‘main’ board, but a few slightly different flavours: Polytune Mini 3 -> Fuzzdog Mr Creosote (Phat Phuk B diy) -> Schu-Tone FLOverdrive (custom BB Bass Pre clone) -> CMC Audio 🤫 -> MXR BEF -> MXR BOD -> Schu-Tone Finn Chorus (his Replicant Jr circuit) -> Olympic MKIIIs. Powered by a Cioks DC7 on a PT Metro 16. Still dialing a few elements in, but I’ve really enjoyed it so far. Little bit more saturation than my very clean Linden EQ ‘main’ board, but it’s very controllable and dynamic, which is fun. Si

Hey all, Had this in my bits box for a long time, I initially built it when I ripped out the active circuit of a Sire V3 Jazz I had. Sounded great as a passive bass, and the addition of the series/parallel switch really helps Jazzes I think. The neck volume pot is a push/pull, allowing you to switch from parallel in the down position, to series in the ‘pulled’ position. Old school cloth wiring. It’s not a super pro job, but it was working nicely when I had it fitted. I will say that it’s been in my bits box for a long while, so the absolute worst case is that some of the connection solder needs re-flowing. One of the knobs is slightly mismatched, but easily changed if that bothers you. Price includes UK postage Cheers Si

I think it depends what you need, the OC5 has a lot more options of course, but the ‘vintage’ mode is never going to be ‘better’ than the OC2. It’s an excellent approximation of it though, so if you have use for all the other guff, the OC5 is great. If you literally just want a -1 and/or -2 octave and that’s it, get an OC2 (if we’re just discussing those two). Always ignore the OC3 🤣 Si

Fuzzdog’s cheapest Reverb kit (including standard bypass and enclosure) is £35…..plus the Belton Brick is costed separately at £14.50. So upwards of £50 once you have postage too. Si

I bought a pedal from Paul a couple of days ago. All good, excellent comms, price, arrival etc. Thanks very much. Si

I re-listened to the SY1 a few weeks ago. Jeezo that’s a bad sounding pedal 😅 (IMO). Si

Hi all, Haven’t played this in a long time and bills/back to school needs-must. Beautiful Taylor acoustic from 2008 (the 5th one built on 7th July according to the serial number). Excellent condition, a couple of very minor ‘impacts’ which I’ve tried to photograph, but nothing to write home about. The Taylor hard case is in equally good condition with all clasps working perfectly. I don’t have any boxes/packaging to post this, so collection/meet-up preferred. £1000 Part-ex’s considered with at least £700 cash to me. Interested in trad-style 5 strings, a Sire P5R 5 string? Perhaps a Yamaha BB 5? Any other questions, just ask 🙂 Si

@terryj I’ve edited your original post to mention 4 ohms, not 5. Cheers Si

Well I can’t quickly find out too much…but that’s a fairly sizable pedalboard he has in the Jools Holland vid. Si

Ah great, thanks very much! I likely skimmed over your clarification and didn’t pick up on it because I didn’t see a ratio anywhere….completely on me. Si
-
Live or on the studio recordings? As they’re likely very different things. Si

Did anyone ever manage to nail down the fixed ratio of the Single Slice (and therefore this?), the only vague reference I can find is a single suggestion on TB from Nathan that it’s 4:1, but that’s not confirmed as far as I can see. Love the green on this, nice little combo of effects too! Love Nathan’s stuff! Si

Finalised the current layout for my second board: TC PolyTune Mini3 -> Fuzzdog Mr Creosote DIY kit (Phat Phuk B)-> Schu-Tone FLOverdrive -> MXR Bass Envelope Filter -> MXR Bass Octave Deluxe -> Schu-Tone Finn Chorus -> Fuzzdog Bass Fuzz Blender DIY kit (Tall Font Muff with mods) -> ShiftLine Olympic MkIIIS. Pedaltrain Metro16 and powered by a Cioks DC7. Si

Something new from CMC Audio: Si

This just came to be in a trade deal, but I have no use for it really. You know the score with these, absolutely wonderful piece of kit on every level, super musical EQ and ready to drop into your Jazz bass. This one has the more retro, Fender-style controls. £120 + £5 UK postage No trades thanks. Cheers Si

I don’t work for Focusrite anymore, but that’s a fairly standard response in any industry. If you want a warranty repair, buy new (I think Focusrite’s is a pretty solid 3 years), if you’re buying used, you’re sacrificing the warranty for a cheaper price, and you accept the potential for paid repairs. I feel like that’s on you. FWIW, when I left, I believe that Scarlett hardware ‘failures’ within the warranty period (first 3 years of life) were <1%, so any issues on that front is pretty unlucky, with almost all repairs coming in under 1 hour. I wouldn’t have thought Clarett’s are much more than that. Cheers Si
