You know what, everyone makes mistakes, even the best musicians in the world......but the trick is being at a level where you can turn it to your advantage, or make it work! It's cliched, but Miles Davies' famous quote of "it's not a mistake, it's an opportunity" really rings true for me personally. Yes practicing more will make you more confident, but mistakes will always happen, it's just how well you react to them! Si

I think a lot of it is being at home and comfortable with a bass, if you're used to where on the neck the notes are you'll hit them without looking. If you're then playing a bass where the notes are in a different place, due to more frets, bigger/smaller body etc etc, then you're fighting an uphill battle, especially if you're swapping mid-set. Si

I would vote for keeping the Stingray. I'm although I'm a proper Fender fan-boy, it's only really their passive basses that I think are ace, they make pants preamps!. If you fancy an active Jazz, get a standard and put in an East preamp of some description Si p.s. and off topic: Raggy, you get my PM?

Depends what that companie's graphite necks are like, I've never heard of them! The quality does vary, Modulus and Status are generally seen as the best, but then I've heard bad things about Moses Graphite necks! Si
