1. I had castors that came on an Ampeg cab. I was told to take them off as bass cabs sound and feel better if they are in direct contact with the floor. don´t know if i believed it or not, but I took them off anyways when I got a case for the cab which was lift off, so there were wheels on the bottom anyway. I have seen SVT head flight cases with castors but no way in hell would I wheel an amp (valve or not) around. Too many delicate parts. Cabs are ok, proper ones-Trace Elliot, Ampeg, Marshall were made to be chucked about stages and thrown into vans. Just wouldn´t do the same with amps or combos.
 2. Saw that blue one this morning. Looks lovely though I reckon that Fernandes/burny last week was better value considering the prices. There´s also a nice Aria Pro II faker on there too
 3.

+1 I´ll take one of those too. Failing that, seeing as I´d have all that money, I´d get Epiphone to build me a 4 string version of my guitar at the moment (not the strat): http://www.americanbikestore.com/images/Lo...%20Flamekat.jpg Coolest guitar I´ve ever owned or played!
 4.
Cheers guys....I'm thinking about it lol Si
Check the ebay links- I found a really cheap MIA Jazz V For what its worth, the Jazz V was the first 5 string I ever tried and the only reason I didn't go with it in the end was because I was already breaking one personal rule-no more than 4 strings, so figured I'd defect to a Gibson while I was at it, very cheeky!
 5. Are there two versions of this-two different ratings? Can one of these heads power two (matching) cabs? Anyone got one? The reason I ask is... http://www.dv247.com/search/0/0/ProductQua.../ampeg+micro/1/ Two different descriptions and two different prices hmm crap, I've put this in the wrong place! Why is Spooks so bloody enthralling? Please move to amps and cabs discussion

 10.
Blimey, why do they wack the price up so much? for a matching headstock!!!... you can get a 75 RI for £1299 and this £300 more??? ok its a 50th Anniversary.. Fender should bring out some limited edition colors with matching headstocks, binding, string through body's, etc.. Its not special enough for £1599.99 Fender rely far too much on there image... (did i say it was lovely)
As much as I love Fender, +1 definately an insane price tag for not that much bass But again, it is beautiful
 11. That looks great! how would it fare ina full band (rock) situation?. I´ve heard those cabs pack a serious wallop

 21.
Thanks basshead, I haven't tried a streamer but the corvette suited me. There is a used rockbass corvette available not too far from me that I might go and try. BTW - I see you're in Kerry, do you know James Kennedy from Tralee ?
Yeah, I´m in Tralee aswell. I know James pretty well. Sound bloke, and a fantastic player. Do you know him then?
 22. nevermind, just noticed its been sold. keep looking though, they do pop up from time to time
 23.
How does the rockbass corvette compare to the warwick standard model ? I need a light weight dub bass with a smooth feel and deep sound. I like the w. corvette std, but it's more than I want to pay.
there´s one for sale on here somewhere for less than the price of a new Rockbass vette http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...&hl=warwick
 24. +1 to all above. Try swapping out the factory strings. Get some decent flats and adjust the intonation, action etc Try the pickups at different heights aswell- a few mm makes a world of difference. I wouldn´t give up on the VMJ-they are typically excellent value for money and as already stated, very well regarded on this site. As regards the MIA Fender- be careful. Not all are amazing. The new standard series are great basses but if you´re going second hand, be wary as like most big brands, Fender quality has its ups and downs. The synth pickup issue- avoid the guitar version- it won´t compliment the sound of the bass at all. I´m nearly sure arsenic is right in saying that the guitar version uses individual-string-specific mini pups so the bass strings wouldn´t match up too well. Have heard the Bass version though, on a Vigier, and it sounded amazing!!!
