Hi guys, Just took delivery of one of these bad boys. It came with a boss adapter. I have a FuelTank Jnr under my Pedaltrain I was hoping to connect this pedal to. However, before I do, I want to be totally sure this is ok to do. Some limited info on TB suggests that the pedal runs more than the 120Ma offered by each ouplet on the FT Jnr Does anyone own a Qballs or similar sized pedal they run using a multi PSU like Trex or Voodoo labs etc? Hi all, A while back I happened across a rather nice 51 RI Precision on Ishibashi. It needed a bit of work but looked quite tidy. It also came with a rather fetching brown leather (or leather looking) Fender gig bag which I've never seen before and am having trouble finding on Google! Anyway, I didn't get the bass in the end. BUT a few months back I found a 51 locally with some lovely mods and snapped it up. Thing is, I'd love to track down the gig bag I saw on the Ishibashi site to go with it. Does anyone have a pic or info or even better, one for sale? Cheers Colin

[/quote] Also +1 The Deluxe version had a humbucker in the bridge and 5 knobs. I never saw a Deluxe that wasn't that boring dark wood finish (not saying they don't exist, just never seen one) I seem to recall seeing somewhere (a long time ago, when I had my Lyte) that there may have been a very short-lived Lyte Deluxe just badged as Lyte with a jazz pickup and 5 knobs but whether that is true or not... The input jack may well have been changed as almost all of the factory ones were cheap and poorly soldered - I know about 4 or 5 Lyte owners (one of whom has several and plays them exclusively) and all bar one have had them replaced.

Good equipment and gear is harder to find down here, but it shouldn't be THAT expensive. Hi all, There's a bloke up the road with an early 90's Gibson Thunderbird for sale. I've got him interested in a part exchange with some cash his way but he seems to think $4K NZD (2000 pounds) is what it's worth?! A new one is about $2700 (1350 quid) and this one isn't 100% original and has quite the number of scuffs. Also if i'm honest - never been a fan of the sunburst ones - much prefer the Ebony models. But looks arent everything - i prefer a bass sounds good rather than look good Now i have numerous 70's basses, some in mint condition, some are 'mojo'd' to hell, but I've never paid anything like 2 grand for any of them and they are considerably older and all bar one are in closer-to-original-condition. My questions then are - have I been lucky up to now? or is 2 grand a bit ambitious to say the least for a 90's Tbird? Cheers Col

I've ended up getting a set of Gretsch Blacktop pickups (the same ones that come in the Electromatic basses out at the moment). The rings are wider than the current stock pickups but approx the same length. The pickups themselves are smaller than the stock ones. I don't have time to fiddle with the soldering iron or any potential routing that may be required as I'm flat out with work and home renovations so have turned it over to a tech mate of mine. He reckons it should be a fairly easy replacement job so should have it tomorrow (all going well) Will post pics/results ASAP

I love mine. 2006 CIJ Hot Rod Red with matching headstock. Lovely passive tone with everything cranked and both pups engaged. Active does buzz a fair bit but there is a simple solution - copper tape the crap out of it and shield the pickguard! I generally prefer the passive tone but there is something nice about the active one too and I usually don't dig active Fenders (my 90's American Deluxe Precision sounds amazing too though!). The Jag really does cut through in active mode without sacrificing that thundery Jazz style goodness! I have no idea what the pickup spacing style is though. I had a Squier VM Jaguar for a bit and I honestly can't believe I sold it - I miss it terribly! It was my favourite bass to gig with - perfect tone every time from the stock PJ pickups. Gutted it went but couldn't justify two Jags - I'm no Prescott (but I am becoming a fat b*st*rd)! I can't wait to hear what the new American Standard Jags will be like!!!

Hi guys, Just looking at tidying up my board a bit - have a PT1 coming my way on Monday. At the moment I use a VT Bass Deluxe, TC Polytune, Boss RC2 Looper, Markbass Super Synth all powered by a T-Rex Fuel Tank Jnr. I'm also wanting to add an EHX Qballs and Steel&Leather or an MXR compressor Anyway, it's currently set up as follows: Bass Guitar - TC Polytune - VT bass (input 1) - Markbass SS in effect send and return of VT Output of VT Bass - Boss RC Loop - Front input of amp. I have opted to use the front end of the amp as I generally prefer the VT as a preamp - it suits every rig I plug into and sounds huge every time! (especially useful in venues where the backline is provided or i can't use my own and I'm presented with a sub-par combo that's seen better days!) I am probably going to place the Qballs in the VT's effects loop with the Super Synth, but where should I place the compressor and loop station? After VT and before the amp as it is now? I REALLY want one! I've been in touch with them on FB to see who is supplying them here in New Zealand. Waiting for a reply from their Aussie supplier... May just have to get the folks to get one from Thomann and get them to chuck it in with the rest of my stuff when they send it out here
