  1. Thomann & Bass Direct are the only ones (except Bax, NEVER again!) who stock these rather expensive & high tech cabs. I would much rather have bought from BD. I buy very little new gear but it's pretty much always through them. From the guy picking up the phone I got the feeling he couldn't be arsed. I'm no longer at the stage of life where I want to tear a snotty person a new anus. Except guitarists, obviously.
  2. For those fixated by the £20. He'd already whizzed me off before he got to the shipping. Perhaps he was doing his nails or playing space invaders & didn't like being disturbed. Mark may have been a bit more attentive & may have answered my two questions with slightly less than a can't be arsed attitude. Still, unfortunately I didn't get Mark.
  3. Yup. Never as simple as that though is it. The guy I spoke to could have been slightly less interested if he'd just shuffled off this mortal coil. They would also have been paid by debit card, so no charges. You could say the same about them, Really? For the sake of £20.
  4. Advice please, if anybody knows. Big ticket item (to me) around £1200. It seems they now include the VAT in their prices, so that nasty surprise is removed. Do our beloved HMRC add import duties of, or does the Post Office slap on handling/custom/random other charges? I've not bought anything from them since the B word, but the attitude of a UK retailer has made me look elsewhere, Cheers in advance wise ones.
  5. I was about to place a £1250 order just now, expensive cab & cover. £20 shipping on top at that amount. Disappointing. Looks like it'll have to be Thomann which is a shame.
  6. REASON FOR SALE. Going full GR equipment. Super condition, I really look after my gear. Apologies for photos, since Windows changed my app, grrr! Both cabs have a Lavoce 400 watt, 12 inch, 8 ohm speaker. Both cabs come with branded slip cover. 15mm high density ply. 19.09 inches x 16.73 inches x 13.98 inches WEIGHT, EACH, 26.12 lbs Collection Darlington, might meet. COURIER, I have the boxes, buyer to organise & pay, sorry. UK ONLY. Don't use the above dimensions, the boxes are bigger. Feedback available. Thanks for looking, Karl
  7. If it had been 4 ohms I would have been delighted to hand over my loot. Great deal, especially with delivery. Good luck.
  8. It's unlikely a buyer will see one of these in this condition at such a low price. I may just keep it for the time being and put it out at a grand plus some time next year.
  9. No longer with Fender gigbag, now with slightly scruffy Armourdillo hardcase. Sorry, no key. I think it's in the black hole at the end of the universe that is full of case keys & my pens.
  10. Cheers Jono. Thanks folks for the trade offers but trade value (if my fancy was tickled) would be higher than the good (imo) cash price. Apparently the pickups are "60's spacing". Ta all.
  11. As I understand it they were first released in 2006 so this is one of the earlier ones (given the sometimes vague Fender Japan serial number system). It's 34", normal long scale.
  12. Cheapest I can find on t'interweb is £1099. Good luck finding another at what I'm asking. Hot Rod Red, matching headstock, blocks etc. Lovely slab rosewood board. Excellent top end access. 9lb 4oz. BAD BITS. Original bridge replaced with Gotoh 201B-4 Original tuners replaced with vintage style Wilkinson 189 (NL I think) I don't have the original parts. Shielding is notoriously poor on these, this one is no different. I've never bothered to do it, can't hear it too much through an Orange 500BT! There are 3 or 4 dimples on the bottom, hard to photograph (especially when you're crap like me). It's in very good condition but not perfect. Collection from Darlington preferred, happy to discuss meet up. COURIER Buyer to organise & pay, UK ONLY, sorry. Thanks for looking, cheers, Karl.
  13. Becki's a delight to deal with, buy with full confidence folks 🙂
  14. Need some specs Andy, neck, weight, pups, case/gig bag etc
  15. Sorry, yes, I've been trying to edit the title on & off for several hours but Open Reach have other ideas.
  16. REASON FOR SALE Only using Jazz necks now. Bought 4 months ago. Best pickup I've ever had in a Fender Japan bass (yes, imo far better than the US ones Fender Japan use on the more expensive models). GOOD BITS. Many. 12" radius, body binding, torque tuners, 8lb 4oz, Babicz bridge, no scratchplate for gorgeous looks (imo). BAD BITS. Tiny bit of neck dive although if you watch the video (our first gig) you will see it certainly doesn't bother me. Soundchecked with it last night to ensure everything is ok. COURIER. Buyer to organise & pay, UK ONLY, sorry. Links. Video of it in use (I don't have earphones, little idea of how it will sound) Specs & current price (I paid £1200 in May). https://www.facebook.com/MOTA.rockband/videos/1349759815590067/ https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/product/220906392178008--fender-aerodyne-special-precision-bass-hot-rod-burst-maple-fing?gclid=Cj0KCQjwvL-oBhCxARIsAHkOiu0vM15iohzZwTEWFxvaJm7PvD6kMRqZ55cxPZi_iTRuprOv0N1bbiMaAhZiEALw_wcB
  17. Hiya folks, I hope somebody can advise me please? Pete Wentz signature, love everything but the tuners aren't the most stable. I know the ferrules will be a pig to get out so hoping somebody can advise on a drop in replacement? Measurements are not 100%, but as close as an old geezers eyes and a 6" steel rule can get them 😊 Here's hoping, cheers.
  18. Bought couple of years back, never used (I think the bass was sold before it turned up). Vintage Fender style, nickel with threaded saddles for tiny string spacing adjustments. It's probably Hosco, I like their vintage replacement parts. The Fender one is over £60. £20 collected Darlington, £23 posted UK. Feedback available. APOLOGIES for photos, Windows have forced an app change & it doesn't have a "Clarity" button. Boo!
  19. I don't get why this fabulous, adorable bass is still here. If it was in the same time zone as me I'd be in my little tank down the M1. Good luck, wonderful truly used bass.
  20. I've dealt with Alain so many times he's given me a Customer Loyalty card (I might have made the last bit up 😚). He is an absolute legend, always easy to deal with and a pleasure as well. One of BC's greatest ambassadors, thanks again & until the next time 😁 Cheers Alain.
  21. Great price & great bloke. If it had been a maple board.................. The S1 switch is very useful on a Jazz (but crap on a Precision). When engaged it really thickens out the neck (middle) pickup making it sound a little more P. Versatile under rated Fender series imo. Good luck Skippy.
