  1. Thanks chaps it is indeed a rather splendid instrument ☺️
  2. Thanks Alex, that sounds about right for mid 70's Fender . Having said that, when I put it back together again, the only thing that had gone out was pick up heights!
  3. Ooops, sorry, sold a week ago. I need to move house later in the year. It will be the end of gigging for me as there's no pub scene there. I don't gig this wonderful bass in the dubious gaffs I play, so time to sell it. BAD BITS. I would also consider a part ex BUT I need to realise at least £1000 cash for the expensive move to come. Original pups are not on, BUT I have them & they are included. I think the bridge pickup has been re-wired at some stage. No idea what the current pups are, but they work nicely. Original included pups, neck no. 180?74, 6.90 ohms, bridge no 181574, 7.60 ohms. Don't think scratchplate is original. (Edit). Like many early 70's Fenders, nothing on the heel of neck, but some stamps can be seen & name looks like it ends "es" The 2 pot dates (both vols) that I can see are 137-73 then it get's tricky. HAPPY to take the control plate off for inspection but I've tried about 20 photos of the numbers & can't get them right. Don't think the case is original, but it's certainly battered. GOOD BITS. It's a lovely bass which seems to be mainly original, lots of chips, bit of forearm wear. Not heavy at fractionally over 9lbs I WON'T COURIER I'm afraid, I can't get full insurance at this sort of cost. I will happily drive within 100 miles of Wigan. Happy for any experts to point out any unintended misinformation, it is 45 years old after all. I am in no rush, thanks for looking, Karl.
  4. In the unlikely event it doesn't work out with Paul, please give me a shout
  5. And look what's turned up on Bumtree https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/fender-mike-dirnt-59-tele-precision-bass/1329903270
  6. My eyesight is crap but to me the body looks like a Squier Dirnt that's been finished with whitewash MADE IN JAPAN Gotohs, no serial number of any kind showing anywhere that I can see. I refer my learned friends to line #1 of post #1 Edit. While I think on, Fender Custom Shop waterslide decals can be had for about £4 on FEEBay.
  7. Just not trendy Frank. Guess I'll stop worrying about the colour matching the Orange cabs 😁
  8. Dodgier than Del Boy's satellite dishes??? Was £1500 last weekend, £1250 by midweek, now £1100. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Custom-Shop-59-Tele-Precision-Bass/292945920847?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

  10. They are actually the OBC 112'S released October. The EBS does clean but it has a "DRIVE" rotary as well the Character, Compression, Filter & Bright features, so that clean can be warmed/dirtied up a bit.
  11. Should be Coffin Dodgers
  12. Preston The Old Black Bull Friargate Preston
  13. Currently yes, but I need it for tomorrow night's gig
  14. Cheers Lewis, I've had a couple before, excellent, versatile, light bass,......... but there's always something shinier comes along isn't there 🤣
  15. PM's replied thanks. Sorry UK only.
  16. What a stunning bass Mike, 'av a bermp!
  17. WITHDRAWN. Too good to give away at this price. Factory Precision body, Jazz neck, P/J pups & pup selector switch. 1987. Weight is a very nice 8lbs 8ozs. As per title, 1st year run from when they changed from the rear of the neck being painted black, to being finished in satin lacquer. They are a very popular bass, a dozen or more crop up each year, but the Red one doesn't appear too often. Lots of little dinks etc, stipled paintwork on the back, the photos actually make it look better than it is. Obligatory Duff McKagan mention. Still has the little F caps on the rotaries, neck, truss, electrics fine, original slightly larger pole pups. Some daft prices getting asked for these, I think I'm asking fair for buyer & seller. It's in good condition for a bass that's over 30 years old, it still gets regularly gigged. I CAN COURIER THIS (UK ONLY). It will be an extra £50, including Fender gig bag & insurance. Any trial in Wigan, will travel to meet up, feedback linked below, thanks for looking, Karl.
  18. photos please ? May be exactly what I'm after although I don't have said Markbass. Money could be found.
  19. Further PM's replied. Yesterday studio all day, gig last night. Guitarist loaned me the pedal below. I don't use pedals. Anyway, the channel button switches the DRIVE on or off, the DFX button acts as a MUTE on or off. Excellent stuff, thank you guitarist. May well just get one of these & powdercoat the amp lid Orange .
  20. I've had quite a few folk from the continent wanting this, but full insurance is very steep. Nobody in the UK? I'll give it another week, then keep it & just order the footswitch. Cheers, Karl.
  21. OK @Stealth gorgeous (the bass obviously), so; weight please can you give pot dates & pick up dates please?
  22. Yes, strange the Reidmar have never become one of the "trendy" amps on here. The TD/Fafner are very well regarded, although more expensive & heavier. The Reidmar are simply great, powerful, well featured amps. Think I'm just going to spray the lid on mine in Orange
