Rings true to be honest. Before the internet there was nothing like as much available info and this would probably have been sold relatively local as for example a 69 Jazz. Most people would not have known any better. Could simply be the previous or original owner wanted a rosewood board but it originally had maple, so he bought another neck. Could be a lot of reasons that we will never know. Fact is that now, we all can source this info quickly and he appears to have an expensive bitsa to sell. Or he's at it

Scam. They have just changed their user names from scams in the past.
No more or less chance of being scammed. However as a seller I've done three transactions via the Global Shipping Programme and they have all been problematic. The shipping charges to buyers seem to be far higher than those I can offer myself. Also there is a maximum size of 120 cm length on parcels which a well-packed bass may well be over (especially if you are using a bicycle box) as your outer. Un-enroll now before you get caught out.
I'm going to be putting my SEI on there at the weekend. How do I un-enroll please? Cheers, Karl.
actually your green one is one of my inspirations for the relicing
Aw, shucks To be honest, it's the colour I've always wanted but never been able to afford, until Mark and Limelight. Enjoy yours, the wait will be worth it.

Bar Gigging, Why Do We Love It? / Why do We Hate It?
karlfer replied to blue's topic in General Discussion
stopped arriving at gigs with any expectations a few years bavk as too many were a let down! Now I arrive with a mild sense of dread and am usually quite pleased, ocassionaly even surprised!
This. Those gigs where there are 6 disinterested punters in 1st set, then at the end, packed out, dancing on tables I'm 56, in one originals and one busy covers band. I'd love to get in a functions band with decent money, but I love playing pub gigs. I think for me, it's that after a seriously mis spent youth, I'm surprised I'm still alive And I don't see the point in being able to play something and NOT share it. Every weekend we bring back happy memories to some punters. -
I just hope he's ok.
Anyone?
Sorry, can't help but I prefer maple boards as well. But the rosewood boarded jazz neck on my 63 is superb. Just have a chat with Mark and tell him what you are after, you are unlikely to be disappointed. Good luck, Karl.

VERY regretfully over the weekend I have come to the conclusion I will never gig this beautiful bass. It deserves to be with the band on Strictly or Jools, not the Polished Knob in Todmorden (no disrespect intended). For a cash sale £1150 collected from Wigan, or plus £40 insured courier, UK. My TRADE value on it is £1250. I will be pinching some of Loz's advert. I would ask him but he's not been on since June and the ad is still in the public domain. Don't really want to disturb him. So. Sei Singlecut Series II (Melt) in cocobolo and flame maple. Basic details as follows: neck - 7 piece, flame maple and purpleheart board - highly figured birdseye maple body - ash with continuous wood cavity covers facing - cocobolo and highly flamed maple (bookmatched to centre) with 'melt' joint (also, black laminate between facings and body) pickups - bareknuckle PJ active pre - Demeter three band scale - 33" approx 19mm spacing at bridge, adjustable side markers - LEDs in red Very light at about 8lbs. Controls Push/pull for volume and side lights activation Pick up pan Bass and treble, centre cut/boost. Mid, push pull for passive/active, with passive tone control. Very happy to look at trades with cash either way. Sorry but must be 4 strings and fretted. CS Fenders and the unmentionable R word (do that through Karl Altdorfer on Facebook though please, not on the forum). Link to a previous advert SOLD - Sei Singlecut Series II (Melt) - PJ configuration.... Gutted. New Fender Adam Clayton and Dee Dee Ramone Signatures
karlfer replied to NJE's topic in Bass Guitars
I won't buy a Steve Harris sig despite being a fan for 35 years. To me his ICONIC bass is the white 70's P with the Hammers crest and painted lines. THAT I would buy because to me IT LOOKS SUPERB! It also brings back memories of so many Maiden gigs. One day I may try to find somebody to fo the art work and just get it done on a standard P. Because it is so recognisable to Maiden fans, I think that at the Dog and Duck on a Sat night, it would send out a subliminal message to a few. "Yes, I know this is Summer of 69 but I would much rather be playing Phantom of the Opera" -
Done. Even though I only live 200 miles away now, wherever I have lived I have had a couple of pilgrimages every year. I will never forget the first time I just stared in wonder in 1981. We have had enough progress lining developers pockets thank you.
Nope, answer iii) Skankdelvar.
Get yer coat Skank, you've pulled. Rog, new single out (are there still singles?) bit of mild controversy, people talking on thousands of different forums. Subconscious re establishing of Rog/The Who. Who'd have thought it
Dam!! I over looked that. It's still a pretty good cab though even though it made me feel as though I had just paid full price for something outdated .
I found after a 5 month wait, I didn't want to start all over at that time

Currently the MEX FSR P/J's have jazz (A) size necks as do the Deluxe Mex series. They are rather giggable. My FSR is first choice every week wherever we are gigging, despite it having some tough competition There is one for sale on FEEBay just now at £495, albeit the slightly earlier active run.
That is handsome Karl.

Mate, that is stunning, nice one! The Dustys sure are great basses, but then so must be your new Jazz. Therefore, I reckon this won't be the last CS you buy.....
Thanks fellas, you are probably right. I would love a Pino, but over the last year, the realisation is I struggle with Precision nut widths. The other realisation is that, as many gigs as we do, 2 basses is actually more than enough. But we don't want to do that do we So, may be just keeping an eye out for another jazz neck CS, although to be brutally honest, the 4 basses I now have are all exceptional in their own way. Including the FSR Mex P/J, my go to at all gigs .
