1. For sale a set of D'addario EPBB170 Acoustic bass strings unopened. These ones: http://www.dolphinmu...ng-scale-45-100
2. Got a set of La Bella's on the way. I hope they live up to the hype I see around the web.
3. Schaller 3D4 bridge complete with 3mm backing plate and screws for sale, in GOLD Specs here: http://guitar-parts....ssSteg_3D_4.pdf Good condition. Looking for £30 plus postage. Excuse oily rag in image.
4. Thanks, nice to have options
5. Thanks for the heads up. I had read that they may 'pull the bridge up' on an ABG. I didn't know they maybe brighter though, interesting. I thought about nylon strings, but had a bad experience with them breaking up after a short time, so all bits of the coating were flapping about, although that was nearly 40 years ago. I guess they're much better these days. Update: Going to try a set of La Bella Black nylon and see how we get on.
6. I have an Takamine ABG with phosphor bronze strings on it, and I'm finding it a little bright. So I'm looking at some d'addario flats / chromes. Can anyone tell me the differences between flats and chromes, or are they the same? What would be the best gauge for this bass, as I see most of their sets are a heavier gauge than on it now? I don't want to change the nut to accommodate new strings. More of an upright sound, than twang required
7. Kev, you maybe correct. These were purchased as Schaller a good few years ago, but no 'S' or Schaller on them, as you'd expect to see. I'll edit my first post. To reflect this, and thanks for the heads up.
8. For sale: A set of 2 left + 2 right gold [s]Schaller[/s] tuners. Used, but in good working condition. Including screws. So that's £25 posted within UK and not £35 EDITED: These may not be Schaller but Gotoh tuners. See next two posts
