1. It's slightly difficult for me to gauge where I am at with my current band, don't get me wrong I love what we play but it's not really my style of bass playing. I am getting another band together and I have stuff recorded which is more about what I do. The stuff I play in Veils is pretty tricky as it is, for the most part, following what is pretty fast, technical riffing so it isn't easy stuff to play so I guess I am a reasonably good bassist, but not as good as I should be....... ......if someone can listen to my band and tell me how I might be able to do something a bit different with my bands music please tell me
2. Glad you liked it dude It is pretty light which is a good thing because I like to move about on stage. I'm totally itching to get it
3. Getting so close now! 2 coats of satin lacquer left to apply which apparently doesn't take long, then it's just a case of waiting for the hardware to be stuck on then it's there!
4. I don't have any choice but to be tight since my band is a bit of a tech widdlefest at times
5.
She is a karate expert (indeed, her sister is a black belt) so, basically, I'm not brave enough to ask her. Even in jest. I'm sure you understand
Amazin!!! I'd love a girl who could properly kick my ass
6.
Saw this in the flesh yesterday, it looks the absolute balls!!! The top wood is sexy as hell and the headstock logo is mint. I bet you can't wait to get your hands on it!!!
Ooooooohhh I'm all excited! How close to being done was it? Like any hardware on it? I don't want to keep harassing Jon
7. Is she included in the sale?
8.
I understand the tuning thing, I was the bass player in (the recently departed) Cry For Silence, and we experimented with different tunings all the time. I checked out your band too man, I was pleasantly surprised, there are soo many god aweful metal bands on myspace atm lol! Regards, Andy
Hey dude! How long ago did you leave CFS? I might have seen you play.....Sheffield Corp supporting BDM? You guys were pretty dam good
9. basically were going from a very low tuning which suited the 5 to one which doesn't. Some of our stuff is just too difficult to simply learn to play in a different position and I'm not against them changing tuning in this case because one of our guys has just had his caparison stolen which is built for low tuning. All a bit crap really but that's life
10. 2007 Nirvana Black oil, black hardware. Flamed maple thru neck and body. Has one or two dings and a bit of buckle rash, but otherwise is in mint condition and plays nicer than most basses I have played in my lifetime! And with the black oil/black hardware combo it looks absolutely GORGEOUS! I will take £900. Oh it also comes with a flight case which is included in the price. I will get pics up on here soon when I get access to a camera, probably tonight. Reason for selling? My guitarists have decided they want to tune in such a way which is rather awkward for this bass so I am aiming to return to a 4 string jazz. Spafe x
11. Welcome from a fellow Manc!! I'm a red living right next to Eastlands though Am I right in thinking you are looking forward to Jan for the transfer window? I must say, I am really interested to see what is going to happen at City. I really can't see any of the big names being banded about joining City but there is a fair chance they will be able to get a few high profile players who aren't getting enough football (such as Robinho at Real).
12. Here is where we are at now. Getting close
13. I had my Warwick off Darryl from Profane and that had steels when I got it because he is allergic to nickel, strange really I had never heard of anyone being allergic to nickel!!
14. True enough. Don't get me wrong, it felt real nice to play, just the tone was a bit lacking for me. I guess if I had upgraded it in a similar way I would have had an entirely different beast on my hands. I must learn to not be so scathing :S
15. That looks SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!
16. Sadly I am now living without my Sandberg Cali JM4 and every day I wake up without it, a little bit of me dies inside. Alternatively that could be just my exclusive diet of beer and curry......
17. My personal response to fight Jon's corner would be this. Firstly, his prices are very good. I am having a pretty high spec bass and at a seriously cut price in comparison to what I would be paying from other luthiers. The quality is absoultely second to none. For a while he had a singlecut 5 in stock (I am not sure whether he still has it?) and it is the best bass I have ever played by a stretch. I picked it up and straight away I was finding I could play all my most technically challenging chops absolutely effortlessly, making no mistakes, hitting every note crystal clean and finding I could play them faster than I had ever been able to! The options are massive. He has a brilliant stash of woods and plenty of other finishing options. Dood's 7 being a good example! Jon also understands perfectly what works and what options will compliment each other. Finally, he is the most helpful and friendly chap you could ask to meet! He works his hind off (he is always in on a Sunday as well) and the fact that his quoted and actual build times differ, I would put down to the fact he has a lot of basses on the go! And the fact that you see a lot of build diaries and his lead times are fairly lengthy is testament to the fact that a lot of people are willing to pay for his work. Shuker owners unite, we salute you Jon!!
18. I had a DJ, probably one of the weakest basses I have ever owned. It was sold pretty quickly.
19. I was wanting to go last night but couldn't really afford it. Instead I stood outside like a muppet waiting for Darryl from Profane and bumped into a lot of people I know! I did manage to see the set list that they played, which made me feel a little better. If they had played The Leper Affinity I think I would have gone home and topped myself.

ACG Recurve

Actually I have just spent a few minutes looking at that and concluded that I do like the top it works looking at the finished piece but not on its own. Cosmic.

ACG Recurve

I'm not taken by spalted tops really. However, that fretboard has got to be the nicest fretboard I have ever seen. Absolutely stunning! Really like the shape of ACG's as well. Any sound clips??
22. No worries dude. Just a thought, but you could always use telekenesis? That's what I do when I can't be bothered to lift things. I find it works quite nicely.
23. Delano ftw
24. Not sure exactly how heavy it is, but it isn't too bad, I have carried it a fair few times myself. I reckon about 30 quid courierededed
