  1. Gonna be a crackerjack!! Supporting Chuck Ragan of Hot Water Music - please come along and watch
  2. Bloody hell someone needs to buy this bass.......
  3. Ace dude! Drop me a PM if you need to know more
  4. Our geetarist has a brand new THD hotplate. It's shiny and purple and has never been used! He bought it thinking he needed it and then decided he didn't. Yours for £200
  5. When I got my Sandberg back in the day, I thought the strings were brilliant! Maybe I got a one off good set or you got a one off rubbish set?
  6. Cheers for the advice here. I am aware that turning down the input or gain stage on the amp can tone this down, but it kills the tone. What I really need to know is, since I admittedly don't have a brilliant understanding of the technicalities of signal is how do I most effectively tame the output without killing the tone. Our drummer who is a FOH wizard says I should buy my own DI (he recommends a Radial J48) because that will give a good signal for the FOH to work with and as long as I can hear myself on stage that is the most important thing even if the sound (which I hear on stage) from the amp is s**t
  7. This is possibly the prettiest bass I have ever seen
  8. Before I packed Veils in recently, I was tuned G-C-G-C-F I always found that tuning a bass to match a drop C guitar is kinda tricky when using a 5 string. I used to play drop Bb with Veils a while back and tuned my bass up half a step (before dropping) to match. Presently in San Sebastian I am tuned in Eb and I much prefer it. I have always thought with metal that if you are simply tuning down to make your songs heavy, then the songs aren't good enough on their own (think Lamb of God's first couple of albums). If you have other reasons for tuning down then go for it, but I find that you tend to grow bored of it after a while. You lose clarity the lower you go and, to me, it just isn't as comfortable to play!

    Flea bass

    Buy the Shuker
  10. I believe there is a trim pot. I was wondering would there be a way of sticking something in the chain which I could selectively use if needs be i.e. sansamp. I have used a sansamp with my Shuker before and it didn't like it much. I am also a little worried that if I knock the output gain of my bass down it is going to dull my sound a tad. As I mentioned, when I have a setup which can cope it sounds absolutely amazing and I wouldn't wanna compromise that
  11. When I asked Jon to build my bass, I told him that I wanted pretty hot output. What I have now in my bass is absolutely searing and I am sometimes finding it causes complications at gigs. I don't always use my own rig and a lot of amps just cannot cope with it and fart like mad at low levels. I don't want my bass being tamed at all as when I have the right gig setup it sounds absolutely amazing, but what would be the best way of controlling it at gigs when it is necessary? I am finding a lot of the time I have to turn my volume down on my bass which compromises my sound
  12. Oh just to throw into the mix, I don't know if Clovers can be picked up in the UK yet??
  13. Sorry to say it....... Sandberg all the way! Pickups are awesome, neck feels wonderful to play and the build quality is top notch. I can't recommend them enough.

    Setlist advice??

I'd tend to take the 3 strongest songs, 2 at the start and one at the end. Have a think about what songs have the most impact to start and finish the set, because to be honest this is what I reckon people tend to remember the most. If you make a strong start to your set, people will be more likely to pay attention. Having said that, I am a believer of not having anything that you consider to be a weak song in a set
  15. Ello all! I am doing my first proper show with my new band tomorrow night! Would be awesome if anyone could make it. Night and Day Cafe is on Oldham St, opposite side to Afflecks, just a little further up towards Great Ancoats Street.
  16. This poor bass doesn't seem to be able to find a home
  17. £60
  18. Afraid I don't really need any of those pedals aside from the tuner. Sorry dude
  19. I'd take the tuner + cash if you're willing to pm an offer?
  20. £100 + postage edit - i expect postage to be no more than £5 really?
  21. Will consider trades for any pedals, not necessarily a TU-2!
  22. I'd be hard pressed to make my bass look any better to my eyes. Aside from that Sei Original 5 Blackburst/rosewood or blueburst/maple Sandberg Cali JM4/5 Blueburst or Teal Stingray
  23. Gotta be honest, getting rid of my Sandberg was the worst thing I ever did!
  24. Escellent condition. Looking for cash offer, or trade for TU-2 + cash/another pedal. Hit me up.
