1. i play this in my band...i can quite safely say i play it differently every time.
2. Most of the Songs off of 'And out come the wolves' by Rancid. In particular 'Journey To the End Of Eastbay' and 'Old Friend'. Love Matt Freemans bass playing.
3. Sorry guys, thought i'd updated this thread. Unfortunately i didn't have much in the way of serious interest for it so i decided to keep it. cheers Dan
4.
Well, if you're talking about the Final Countdown, check this out...
That is all kinds of awesomness!
5. I love playing in the band im in. It's a covers band and we do a mix of Pop/rock/Soul/Indie/Motown. Im normally a bit of a rocker when it comes to playing but i am relishing the new bass styles im learning. 3 years in this band now and we are doing really well as far as cover bands go. Also, 2 of my best mates are in the band (we've played together in many different bands).
6. I had these taken off my CIJ 70s RI Precision. I have been lead to believe that they could be vintage 62 RI pickups, although they could also be standard Fender pickups. Either way, they are no use to me anymore as i have some new ones. They are in perfect working order and are in great condition. Looking for £15 plus a couple of quid for postage? Here's a pic of them still on my P. also, FYI, here is a thread discussing what they could be: Clickety Click...
7. Ok, Ive just had some new PUPs installed on my CIJ 70s RI Precision and i was wondering what the stock pickups are? I vaguely remember reading that they came stock with 62 vintage PUPs but i could be mistaken. any help would be greatly appreaciated as i'd like to put the stock ones up for sale but i cant until i know exactly what they are?
8.
A P and a Jazz, the classic setup.
Yep, an i just had some Seymour Duncan SPB-1s put in the P and they sound Outstanding!!!
9. Ok, here are my 2 basses. My 70s RI Olympic White PBass and my Geddy Lee Jazz.
10. Kings of Leon stopped being good when they cut their hair. Fact.
11.
Hat's off to you sir for keeping it real.
It's the truth though. none of this other 'it helps me express my self through my playing' bollocks. When none bass players (and some bass players) go to a show they expect to see Fender and ampeg. all im doing is enhancing their gig going experience hahahahahahah
12. Ok, Why buy expensive gear? well, i buy expensive (for me) gear for a number of reasons. 1 - Cos i can. I have a decent job and earn a decent wage. I try to buy the best stuff no matter what i am doing. 2 - Cos i know the chances of getting high quality gear when spending a good wad of cash is higher than going for a cheaper alternative. 3 - Cos ive always wanted Fender/ampeg. All my favourite bass players use them and ever since i started playing i always wanted to play Fender basses through Ampeg amplification. Now i do and i love it. 4 - Cos i want people to look at my stuff and think 'that's a nice bass/amp, wish i had that' that is honestly why i buy expensive stuff.
13. White Jazz...cos it's bloody lovely...that or the P
14. Ive got a set of pickup/bridge covers on their way to me now. I bought them predominantly because i love how they look.
15. perhaps you are applying to the wrong type of bands?
16. i find that people who call others 'noobs' based purely on the length of their strap usually means that in fact 'they' are the noobs
17. Ok, well, here is me from friday nights gig. Taken by a photographer friend of mine. (Chris Sutherland) Dan
18. I want it to be the same shade as this: It doesnt nescesseraly need to be the fender one, however it does need to be that colour and have the same amount of holes.
19. still looking for this just incase
20.
I've a dark shell that was on my old '62, although it's arguably dark red more than dark brown (although TBH on an Oly White or 3TSB bass they look similar)? Given we've the Badass thing going on sure we can sort something
mate, that sounds spot on. drop my a PM and we'll get it sorted
21. Im having a bit of trouble locating somewhere that sells fender parts. In particular a Precision bass 62 Tortoise Shell Scratchplate. (the dark tortoise shell with the pickup cover holes and the thumb rest holes). the part number is: 0992021000 Link to the fender website is: http://www.fender.co.uk/products//search.p...rtno=0992021000 Ive had one price from a local music store of £53. was hoping to find one cheaper. It MUST be the dark brownish Tortoise shell one.
22.
P.M.'d for possible local collection.
yep, spot on mate. SOLD PP
23. As the title says, got one of these for sale. It is used, but in excellent condition. no major scratches or chips but does have some very light scratching just under the pickups (from a plectrum). They are so light they can probably be polished out. looking for £17 inclusive of postage within the UK. pictor:
24. As the title says, i have a BadAssII bridge for sale. It has been filed, but just the once and has lived on my 70s RI since the day i got it. I had it profesionally filed and fitted so you can garantee a good job has been done. Not really sure what the going rate is for these? Perhaps someone could advise? Say £25 plus a couple of quid for postage? Obligatory pic:
