1. I want it to be the same shade as this: It doesnt nescesseraly need to be the fender one, however it does need to be that colour and have the same amount of holes.
2.
I've a dark shell that was on my old '62, although it's arguably dark red more than dark brown (although TBH on an Oly White or 3TSB bass they look similar)? Given we've the Badass thing going on sure we can sort something
mate, that sounds spot on. drop my a PM and we'll get it sorted
3. Im having a bit of trouble locating somewhere that sells fender parts. In particular a Precision bass 62 Tortoise Shell Scratchplate. (the dark tortoise shell with the pickup cover holes and the thumb rest holes). the part number is: 0992021000 Link to the fender website is: http://www.fender.co.uk/products//search.p...rtno=0992021000 Ive had one price from a local music store of £53. was hoping to find one cheaper. It MUST be the dark brownish Tortoise shell one.
4.
P.M.'d for possible local collection.
yep, spot on mate. SOLD PP
5. As the title says, got one of these for sale. It is used, but in excellent condition. no major scratches or chips but does have some very light scratching just under the pickups (from a plectrum). They are so light they can probably be polished out. looking for £17 inclusive of postage within the UK. pictor:
6. As the title says, i have a BadAssII bridge for sale. It has been filed, but just the once and has lived on my 70s RI since the day i got it. I had it profesionally filed and fitted so you can garantee a good job has been done. Not really sure what the going rate is for these? Perhaps someone could advise? Say £25 plus a couple of quid for postage? Obligatory pic:
7. Well, im pretty much sold on the SPB-1s. Thanks to all those who gave me the heads up. much appreciated. Stevie D, that is indeed Jaco
8. ive had the quater pounders before. not really what im looking for i dont think, they are a bit too punchy. there seems to be a lot of love for the SPB-1s on here. would you go for those over the twin coil antiquitys?
9.
I've just ordered the Fender 'Original' P-Bass pickup, which is the new name for their '62 re-issue, £60 on eBay. I've got a 2005 MIA that sounds a bit too polite, and I reckon this will give me the sound I'm looking for. Here's a Talkbass thread with a couple of clips comparing them to the Fender MIMs: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=576039 I've waded through quite a few threads on this subject, and generally the most commone answers are these Fender ones, Seymour Duncan SPB-1 / Antiquity, Lindy Fralin, DiMarzio. There's also the Wizard pickups, the Trad is probably your best bet.
quality, was looking at the seymour duncan ones. do you know the difference between the twin coil and the single coil in the antiquity range?
10. what is the difference between these pickups and why such the big price difference? what tone benefits would the twin coil give over the single? http://www.seymourduncan.com/products/anti...104416_antiqui/ http://www.seymourduncan.com/products/anti...1104411_pickup/ really want some new pickups but just cant decide
