enlarged the pickup hole and still having the same issue, problem only happens when i screw the pickguard down and when i do so the pickguard between the top of the neck pickup and bottom of the neck bulges upwards. ive attached a picture but its quite hard to see.
i think maybe the different pickguard has the pickup route minutely closer to the neck than the original and maybe the bottom of the pickup plate is getting caught on the edge of the pickup route. might try taking a hacksaw to it and cutting off a little bit of the bottom plate when i next go to visit my parents but i think for now i might put the original white pickguard back on.
hi, so i changed the pickguard on my fernandes rb80 rickenbacker copy and i just cant seem to get the neck pickup to sit flat. it was fine with the old pickguard. the pickup is a little tight in the hole in the pickguard but not massively could it be that or would it be crappy springs and lack of foam?
sorry to hear its still not showed up, hopefully you hear something soon! same colours as the fernandes copy i play with the black pickguard / white truss rod cover, although was the pickguard painted black looks like its worn through to white in the picture or is that a sticker?
id probably recommend sticking with 45-105 or 45-100 as a start. remember if you do get a set of flats and dont like them you can always list them for sale here!
just 1 (maybe overly large) amp, an old sound city b120 that i got as a spares and repairs sale and fixed up. put it through a laney guitar cab hopefully the speakers dont blow...
hi, i had a search through pages and couldnt find anything asking this question so apologies if theres already a post but, im looking for a copy of the ampeg sub blaster since they come up for sale so rarely, is the ashdown sub harmonic generator a similar type of octave pedal? as well does anyone have any experience with it in general?
thanks, leo
started with rotos the normal rs66ld set got a set of them with my first bass, when the silk started fraying i decided id stay away from the strings with silk
moved on to the rotobass set in 50-110 gauge when i started down tuning, later tried some rotosound 77s but decided i didnt like how flatwounds felt.
now im just using daddario xls (55-110) as i tune to c# or c and they seem to be the minimum tension i can get away with, i quite like the loose feel but normal medium gauge flops around a little too obnoxiously
oh didnt know that, ill have to keep that in mind. it is my only amp at the moment but it isnt particularly precious, just something i found really cheap on facebook, does sound pretty good though to be fair
yep think ill just keep a look out on facebook, ive seen some decent looking cabs come up for the £60, £70 mark, so theres definately something i could do
ok, looks a bit more complicated than i may have thought then, i guess ill just leave it as is, i can use it for quiet volumes as is with it seems the speaker only gets stressed past around 5 on the volume, might just maybe look for a really cheap bass cab and plug that into it, might work fine?
hi, i have a peavey bravo 112 combo that i use to practice with, i was just wondering if i swapped the speaker in it to a bass range speaker id basically be changing it to a bass amp, so was wondering if anyone could recommend a good 12 inch speaker to go into it, i really know very little about speakers.
thanks, leo
