6. i very much doubt that it's no-ones interested, just that anyone who's interested doesn't have the funds at the mo.
7. my favorite bassline is the song Soul/Testify. the line in the verse is very very simple, but it's the way me and the guitarist Q&A that makes it for me. and i just love playing the chorus! the other one is Part Time Lover. we wanted a slow, soulfull number, but something a bit out of the ordinary. so decided the game plan was to have very melodic music, yet keep the overall sound quite empty and sparse (much harder than it sounds!). and because it's quite a busy and melodic line. yet isn't too overpowering, i really dig it. the pieces can be check out here: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=176145

9. very very nice! you mean it about the playing. there's even wear around the volume knob! bet that thing drips mojo
10. i've got a two twelve. no time to waste with 'by's... and as for manufacturer pronounciation, i find gently mumbling the best way forward

17. hehe, cheers. took me bleedin AGES! made the guy, found the right pic of my bass, then had to find and download image editing software as this computer had NOTHING, then had to figure out how to use it. but i think the results were worth it! oh, and i think that MTD deserves a second 'oof!' from me too

19. a good start would be to move basslines you already know up 5 frets and down a string onto the B

How much?

for straight up functions, with 45min to hour long sets, then £400 would be the minimal for me. but then i live down in S/W wales, and people are pretty tight ar$ed round here. if your out in the cities, i'd start for around £600?
24. the harley bentons are great, awsomely powerful pickups! if we include 2nd hand, the OLP would be tops for me. when i had mine i would regularly gig it instead of the Shuker for a bit of a change, not quite on the same level (!) but more than good enough to gig with, great in fact!
25. when i was learning piano i had real trouble when my hands were playing 2 different parts/rhythms, and the tip my teacher gave me was to learn the left hand part till it's instinctive. just play it over and over until it's drummed into the fingers and it's all done on instinct, so you could read a book, or have a conversation with someone and your hand will be doing it's thing on it's own. this is what i did when trying to sing and play for the first time. and it worked very well. just go over the bassline (something simple to start) with a drum machine or metronome and just keep running over it again and again (for more that one session if necesarry), until you can let your mind wonder without effecting the bassline. then singing over the top of it will be a lot easier. and as others have said, it gets easier with practice. it took a very long time before i could sing backing vocal without messing up the bass. now i'd be more than capable of singing lead vocals on our entire set (if only i had the voice )
